How is a world-leading supplier to the automotive industry using digital identities to drive hyper-efficiency in their operations? As the largest manufacturer of wiring harnesses for vehicles, the Yazaki Corporation has a global network of factories and logistics hubs to serve their customers. Flowing through the European operation are 12 million containers used to transport components through the production stages and between locations. But until recently, tracing exactly where containers and their contents are, was unclear. 💡The solution💡 Yazaki adopted a solution based on RFID technology. Now every RTI has an intelligent label with a unique code, and RFID readers for automated scanning have been installed at strategic positions throughout the operation. The entire system integrates with SAP via Data Elektronik’s RCOM Gateway, an enterprise scale RFID middleware. The solution has transformed the way RTIS and tracked and managed.
