Daily Startup Spotlight: Axelera AI Latest reasoning models (OpenAI-o1, DeepSeek R1) rely more heavily on inference computing than earlier transformer models. This means that AI hardware needs to adapt accordingly to meet these new requirements. Meet Axelera AI: founded in 2021, the Netherlands-based startup focuses on providing hardware & software that accelerates AI inference. Their latest project is the development of Titania, a high-performance AI inference chiplet that aims to provide an effective foundation for data-intensive AI applications. Just last week, they announced that their efforts will be backed by €61.6 million in funding from the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) and others! 👏 We are excited to see what comes next! 🚀 It's time to unveil Titania 🚀 This is Axelera AI's high-performance, low-power AI chiplet designed to scale seamlessly from edge AI to the cloud. And to make it happen, we are proud to participate with the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) as part of the DARE Digital Autonomy with RISC-V in Europe project. As the AI inference contributor, Axelera AI is receiving up to 61.6m Euro from DARE and member states —pushing our total investment past $200M in just three years!
