endeco GmbH, a German engineering company, specializes in the design and construction of starch and protein plants. It believes in collaboration to actively shape the future of plant-based proteins and a global sustainable diet. It just built a Protein Application Centre (PAC) with partner Bühler Group. The company is a premium partner at Bridge2Food North America and we recently spoke with project development – sales engineer Lissy Frantzen:   𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗹𝘀𝗲-𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲?    Driving business in the pulse-protein sector requires consideration of the whole value chain from field to fork, matching consumer needs with tasty and healthy products, leveraging cutting-edge technology for efficiency, and ensuring a reliable supply of raw materials. Keeping a strong focus on sustainability through collaboration and innovation leads to market expansion and adoption of plant proteins, further supported by transparent communication and education on the benefits of sustainability. Understanding market demand and fostering collaboration with the same passion across all segments — from farmers to B2B and B2C — will enable synergies and enhance growth.    𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁-𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆?   To reduce the environmental footprint of plant-protein processing, we need to adopt innovative technologies along the value chain that enhance efficiency and sustainability. An open mindset and the evaluation of processes from different perspectives will ensure finding that perfect fit of a customized, sustainable solution. Utilizing carbon neutral power generation, heat recovery methods to require less energy and advanced process water recycling systems, as well as wastewater treatment to minimize water usage, will support reducing the environmental footprint.   𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲𝟮𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮?   By highlighting endeco’s Protein Application Center developed with Bühler, I will offer insight on how collaboration and innovation can significantly enhance sustainable protein production. The presentation shows how both a flexible batch-scale and a continuous line can be used to handle various raw materials, utilizing different processing technologies that match project stages to either test new ideas or validate and scale up processes for industry. Through this, I aim to illustrate the value of collaboration and technological advancement in improving efficiency and reducing environmental impact in plant-protein processing.   📍 Lumber Exchange Event Center, Minneapolis 📅 October 8-10, 2024 Co-hosted by MBOLDmn 🔗 Register: https://lnkd.in/eG2CSacK   #Bridge2Food #sustainablefood #alternativeprotein #B2Fevents #Bridge2FoodNorthAmerica #endeco
