💡 Mooi nieuws voor het Nationaal Groeifondsproject PhotonDelta: de adviescommissie heeft positief geadviseerd over een vervroegde investering aan het programma. Het kabinet neemt het advies over en vervroegt daarmee een bijdrage van €53,8 miljoen aan het programma. Deze investering is nodig voor de Nederlandse deelname aan het Europese consortium PIXEurope. Hiermee kan PhotonDelta verder bouwen aan hun leidende rol voor Nederland in de mondiale fotonicamarkt. 🔗 Meer weten? Additional investments in innovation, knowledge and technology are crucial. A promising technology in which the Netherlands will continue to excel is integrated photonics. A total of 380 million euros in public investments have been allocated for integrated photonics in Europe. It is expected that 133 million euros of the total amount for the pilot production lines will be invested within the Netherlands. The funds comes from the Chips Joint Undertaking (Chips JU). This is the European public-private partnership that supports research, development and innovation of semiconductor technologies and applications. A position paper on the Dutch Satcom industry was presented at the Dutch Satcom Summit, organized by TNO and NXTGEN Hightech. It addresses the critical challenges faced by Europe and the Netherlands in securing space communications. What an exhilarating day at the Dutch Satcom Summit organised by #TNO and NXTGEN Hightech at Nxt Museum in Amsterdam. We’ve delved into discussions on the future of optical and quantum satellite communication, focusing on reducing our reliance on non-EU infrastructure and bolstering Europe’s supplier base and competitiveness. Kees Buijsrogge: “In today’s world, where global satellite connectivity is crucial for security and resilience, swift action is imperative. The EU is committed to ensuring guaranteed access to unrestricted communication options. Optical and quantum technologies promise secure, ultra-fast data exchange, vital for our technological independence and a strong Europe within NATO. But Europe’s lead in optical satellite communication has rapidly slipped to the US and China. PhotonDelta launches €50,000 global photonics engineering contest to drive breakthroughs in photonic chip applications tackling global challenges. The contest will be officially launched at PIC Summit Europe 2024 in Eindhoven, the Netherlands on October 15th. The contest is open to startups, established companies, engineers, researchers, students, and academic organizations working on innovative photonic chip applications. One year ago, I was offered a position in the Marie Curie Doctoral Network on Microwave Photonic Technologies for Communications and Sensing in Space, MWP4SPACE . This led me to the opportunity to join BRIGHT integrated Photonics a pioneering company that has revolutionized the Photonic industry with their open source tool, Nazca. Last week, I had the chance to give my first Nazca training along Stef van Uden in the MWP4SPACE workshop organized by Tyndall National Institute and Dublin City University School of Physical Sciences. I would like to thank Bright Photonics, to give me the chance to represent them across the sea, and for helping me pave the way to become a Photonics Researcher.

Happy to have hosted a week-long training course for the MWP4SPACE doctoral candidates at Tyndall National Institute in conjunction with Liam Barry at Dublin City University. Thanks to our researchers who shared their deep knowledge on photonic device technology and characterisation along with speakers from PIXAPP Pilot Line , MBRYONICS, BRIGHT integrated Photonics, PixQuanta, Ubotica Technologies, III-V Lab, VPIphotonics, ALTER TECHNOLOGY TÜV NORD, Pilot Photonics and the Irish Photonic Integration Centre.

🎉 A huge thank you to everyone who made our Marketing Summit a blast yesterday! 🎉 The day started with the PhotonDelta Human Capital team hosting a tremendous Career Event Brainstorm! We are pleased with the results from the brainstorm session, as the group engaged in some excellent discussions, resulting in an even better understanding of our partners' needs and challenges. The marketing summit then kicked off with some laughs, sharing our "marketing fails" during a fun icebreaker. The day was filled with insightful sessions, from tackling your marketing queries and survey results to Bob Oord's lead generation tips and a branding talk by our very own Floris Maassen. We wrapped up with a delicious BBQ and drinks, mingling and sharing ideas with our amazing ecosystem partners.
