Every day in the life of a trader is unique, filled with fast-paced decisions and constant adaptation. Although no day is the same, we would like to give you a glimpse into what a day in the life of a trader could look like. 📌 Morning Meeting: We kick off the day with a team meeting, reviewing overnight market developments and aligning on the day’s strategy. 📌Market Opening: As the market opens, we get into action, executing trades according to the market movements. Throughout the day, we always keep an eye on the screen, making split-second decisions to capitalize on market opportunities. 📌Monitoring Key Events: Whether it's earnings reports or rate decisions, key events can shift the market in an instant. We stay alert, ready to adjust our strategies on the go. 📌Continuous Improvement: Between trades, we collaborate with Quant Researchers and Software Engineers, brainstorming new ideas and refining strategies to stay ahead of the curve. 📌Market Closing: As the market closes, we reassess our positions and make sure we are in good shape for the end of the day. 📌Post-Market Analysis: Our day ends with a thorough review of what worked, what didn’t, and how we can improve for the next day. Does this sound like an exciting day to you? See the link to the Graduate Trader vacancy in the comments.

⚡ What It’s Like to Train at Da Vinci: A Trainee's Perspective ⚡ After completing an integrated master’s in Mathematics at Oxford, one of our recent trainees, Akis, has joined the Digital Assets desk as a Quantitative Researcher. Here’s what he had to say about the training experience at Da Vinci and how it has set him up for success: "I've always been passionate about problem-solving and mathematics, but finding a job that truly utilized these components was challenging. I discovered the world of trading at a careers fair, and Da Vinci seemed like the perfect fit – a place where I could apply my love for programming and mathematics in a practical, impactful way. The onboarding experience was incredibly smooth and thorough. Over 6 weeks, I trained alongside Software Engineers, Traders, and Quant Researchers, which gave me a well-rounded understanding of how everything fits together. The first four weeks were focused on option theory and simulated trading with real market data, which gave us a practical understanding of the strategies used here at Da Vinci. Then we dove into quantitative research for a week, where we switched from manual trading to coding our own trading algorithms, which competed against each other. After that, we spent another week on software development, including a C++ course. I had never really coded in C++ before, so this was definitely challenging but so much fun. This cross-functional training really opened my eyes to how all the different roles work together, making it much easier to collaborate across teams! The training really stood out to me as it was very personalized, with our in-house trainer and other colleagues able to address specific questions and adapt the content to meet our needs. Flexibility was a key aspect – if we needed more time on certain topics, we got it. This ensured that everyone got a solid understanding of the material." 🤝 Meet Zack - Trading Systems Engineer at Da Vinci! 🤝 Zack joined us in May 2023 and has been making significant improvements as a Trading Systems Engineer ever since. Zack grew up in Toronto and completed a Bachelor’s in Computer Science at the Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. After doing an internship in R&D, he joined Da Vinci, stepping into the role of a Trading System Engineer (TSE), which perfectly balances development and operations. “When it comes to being a TSE, I can say that programming skills are essential, especially Python. Also, a solid understanding of Linux is important since all our servers run on it. Familiarity with networking, internal tooling and automation - particularly with Terraform and Ansible - can give you a better head start. On daily basis, I’m busy scheduling and performing upgrades. If something goes wrong, I’m the first to jump in and troubleshoot, making the decisions on whether to roll back or keep going. Besides handling incidents, I also lead internal tooling projects and am always on the lookout for ways to automate and optimize our infrastructure - that's something I'm really passionate about, and it keeps me motivated. One of the things I appreciate most about working here is the continuous learning curve and the responsibility you’re given from day one. It’s important to stay proactive, but given the amount of ideas coming in from other teams in the company, sometimes the toughest part is knowing what to prioritise. To fit the team, you must be resilient under pressure, dynamic, and innovative. Collaboration is key - whether it's with operations, developers, or traders - since configuring infrastructure, running applications, and managing changes require constant communication. I’m particularly proud of the ongoing automation work that we’ve been pushing forward. This dedication to innovation and improvement is what makes me feel like I add a lot of value to the team.” Does this sound like the perfect role for you? Check out the link in the comments below!

🤝 Meet Bo, a dynamic force in our team at Da Vinci! 🤝 Bo joined us in March 2023 and has been making significant contributions as a Trading Analyst ever since. During her bachelor's studies, Bo developed a keen interest in financial markets and trading which lead her to discover the Trading Analyst role at Da Vinci that perfectly matched her profile. "I studied a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business, and Innovation, together with one in Business Analytics. During my studies, my passion for programming, mathematics, and finance led me to pursue a Master's in Quantitative Finance. In the meantime, I was lucky to discover the Trading Analyst role offered at Da Vinci. Here, at Da Vinci, I really enjoy the collaboration within my team and the variety of tasks I do on daily basis, from mid-office responsibilities to innovative projects. I contribute to the team the most with my ability to combine data analysis and programming. The project that I am particularly proud of is one where I developed a user interface window that displays various risk checks throughout the day. To accomplish that, I had to integrate complex systems and ensure our operations run smoothly. It allowed us to bridge trading intelligence and risk management. For anyone considering a trading analyst role, I would highly recommend to be proficient in programming, skilled at data integration, and maintain an open, proactive mindset." We’re proud to have Bo on our team and look forward to seeing her continue to grow even more! 📈 Doesn’t this sound like the perfect step in your career? Check out the link in the comments below!
