Meet an 85-year-old woman from Spain with a complex medical history who had been battling two pressure ulcers for four months. This case highlights the challenges of treating patients with multiple comorbidities and how DEBRICHEM® was able to make a difference in getting the wound to the healing stage. 🔹 𝗛𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲: The patient had two ulcers located in the sacral and heel area, both infected and showing significant exudate. The ulcers were painful and slow to heal despite previous treatments. 🔹 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗗𝗘𝗕𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗠® 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗮 𝗗𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: DEBRICHEM® was applied to the wounds, which were then covered with moist environment dressings and managed with careful follow-up. 🔹 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀: ✔️ 𝗔𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: The wounds were infected and painful, showing minimal signs of healing (Figures A1 and A2). ✔️ 𝟮 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗗𝗘𝗕𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗠®: Almost 100% of the wound bed showed granulation tissue, indicating significant healing (Figures B1 and B2). ✔️ 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲: Despite the patient’s overall poor health and bronchial aspiration, there was clear progress in the wound bed. Unfortunately, the patient passed away a month and a half after treatment. 📸 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆: ✔️ 𝗙𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝟭 & 𝗔𝟮: Before DEBRICHEM®. ✔️ 𝗙𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗕𝟭 & 𝗕𝟮: 2 weeks post-DEBRICHEM®. This case shows how DEBRICHEM® promotes rapid granulation tissue formation even in patients with complex conditions, emphasizing its role in treating pressure ulcers effectively. 👏 Let’s celebrate the progress made in this case and continue to explore how DEBRICHEM® is improving patient outcomes. 📌 Follow DEBx Medical for more inspiring case studies and updates. 🚨 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗩𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴❓ In people with diabetes, damage to small blood vessels (microvasculature) can cause serious problems like thickened capillary walls and the buildup of proteins. This damage then leads to complications in larger blood vessels (macrovasculature), such as atherosclerosis (plaque buildup in arteries). 🔗 Small and large vessel diseases are closely connected. When small vessels are damaged, oxygen levels drop, which can increase the risk of atherosclerosis and affect blood flow. Poor blood flow significantly impacts the body’s ability to heal wounds. Key wound healing processes that are affected: ➡️ 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀: The formation of new blood vessels that supply oxygen and nutrients to the wound. ➡️ 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀: Essential proteins like VEGF, TGF-β, and PDGF that promote tissue growth and repair. When these processes are disrupted, wound healing slows down or stops entirely. Understanding this connection between small and large blood vessel issues is key to improving care for people with diabetes and supporting better wound healing. 👉 Visit our product page to discover how DEBRICHEM®, a fast-acting chemical debridement agent that works in just 60 seconds, is revolutionizing chronic wound care.: https://lnkd.in/dZTuMHZX. 💬 Have thoughts or questions?
