We make robots that are unique, fun, Mercurian.

Over ons

After decades of competition, all the robots in the RoboCup Small Size League have converged to similar designs, and innovation has stagnated. Without innovation, there is no progress. And without fresh ideas and change, there is no innovation. Robots have endless possibilities, yet they are chained by what’s already been done before. There need to be new challengers to bring in fresh ideas, to stir up the competition, and to inspire a new generation of robot enthusiasts. We aim to be that catalyst. Our goal is to think outside of the cylinder, to not fall into the current design trend, and create robots that are unique, fun, Mercurian. 🚀 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝗦𝗔 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗵𝘂𝗴𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀! 🎉 We had an incredible turnout, and the energy in the room was electric ⚡ These quarterly evenings showcase the heart of our association—where projects present their progress, and new ideas get pitched to recruit and find new members. This is where great projects begin and current ones grow! We saw inspiring projects, from a robotic fish (OpenFish) and a borscht-cooking robotic arm (RoBorscht) to the electrifying Substation robot ⚡, and of course, the Delft Mercurians. We also had exciting guest speakers from the TU Delft Swarming Lab🐝 and Alex Luijten from TU Delft | Aerospace Engineering Shaping Matter Lab ✈️, who both built a bridge for possible opportunities for interested people—literally for the latter of the two as he brought a bridge\lattice structure-building robot to showcase his project. ⬇️Check out the presentations from the evening here⬇️: https://lnkd.in/gCZF4p4f If you're inspired, you can join one of the projects and be part of something exciting! A big thank you to everyone who joined and made it such an awesome evening 🙌! Our next project evening is on Thursday, November 14th, so mark your calendars 📅. For more cool events, workshops, and guest lectures, join today! https://lnkd.in/gq_TnNQ8 🔗. 🚨 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗢𝗡'𝗧 𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗦 𝗢𝗨𝗧—check the last few slides for details on our special competition for the next project evening!😉

🌟 Recap of last match days and retrospective of RoboCup 2024 - Eindhoven ✌ We came on top in our rematch against the A-Team, which allowed us to stay in the game! We won by just one point near the end of the match, it was intense and had everyone by the edge of their seats! 😢 Our next match was again an extremely intense and close one, which we unfortunately lost 0-1. It was an amazing fight and a well deserved win from NameC. This placed us in the 5th place overall in division B. 🎉 This did mean that we were able to finally get some good night's sleep and enjoy the final match day. The major party afterwards was also a ton of fun. An amazing way to wind down after all the pressure and stress. And of course, when you bring engineers to a party, they will start a construction with whatever material they could find. 🎇 Eventhough we got eliminated early, we put up an amazing fight as a first time competitor, and the team grew and improved so much during the week. It was incredible to watch the team work together and staying strong even in times when a lot of things went wrong and it would be easier to just give up. 🎊 The whole event was unbelieveably fruitful and we all learned so much. We will take all of this experience and put it to use and make our robots and strategy tremendously better. 💖 We could not have done it without the help we received from all of our sponsors! Thank you all for joining this insane journey with us! TU Delft Robotics Institute for providing us with funds to get started; BGlobal for giving us most of the motors that we needed; RS for providing us with so many electronic components, most of which may or may not be still functional; STMicroelectronics for providing us with amazing motor controllers to drive the robots; Nanotec Electronic for providing us with incredible motors for free when we just started; GeT Cameras for giving us amazing industrial grade vision equipment; TU Delft | Mechanical Engineering for giving us emergency funds during our final push; Robotics Student Association and RoboHouse for giving a home for our robots; and DeltaProto B.V. for coming in clutch and helping us rapidly produce numerous PCBs. We hope to work more with you in the future as well! And of course, we have to thank all the dedicated team members that have put in a stupendous amount of work to make it possible! We will continue with development and hope to achieve better results next year in Brazil! See you soon! #robocup #robocup2024 #robot #robots #robotics #robotsoccer #robocupssl #eindhoven #techdome #delftmercurians

Recap of match day 2 We drew against the A-Team in our last group stage match, which meant that we placed 3rd in our group was able to progress into the elimination phase! This is a huge achievement for us. Unfortunately, our first elimination match ended in a loss against NameC, where they scored a goal in overtime. However, we have one more life left, and our next match would be a rematch against the A-Team. We have made numerous improvements to our strategy and robot hardware, so we are excited to see who will come on top in this rematch! Stay tuned for more updates! #robocup #robocupssl #robocup2024 #robot #robotcs #robotics #robotsoccer #DelftMercurians

🌟 Recap of Match day 1 🌟 It was an intense and exciting day. We played against ITAndroids and lost to them 0:1, but after some adjustments. we improved our strategy and managed to beat RoboFEI 2:1 in an extremely intense game full of twist and turns! However, our last opponent, Ri-One, was simply too strong, and we lost to them 0:10. It was still a great match despite our loss, and the team leader was kind enough to gift us some delicious Japanese sweets! A lot of technical problems occurred in all the matches, but we stayed together and did our best to tackle them. We worked as a well-oiled machine to fix up and change robots between substitutions and timeouts, and the team spirit was high. So, overall it was still a ton of fun and the rush we felt at our victory was unforgettable. From the experienced we gained from these matches we will continue to improve our robots and strategy and hope to win more matches and progress in our bracket! #robocup #robocupssl #robocup2024 #robocup2024eindhoven #robot #robo

The first 2 days of RoboCup 2024 - Eindhoven were quite intense. We came with quite a few people and a lot of equipment, so it was a challenge to fit everything in the limited space we had. Moreover, there were a lot of technical issues that prevented us from testing properly. However, we are staying strong, utilizing all the resources at our disposal to tackle the problems. We even set up a 3D printer at the house we are staying at. We will not back down no matter the difficulties. The stadium itself is huge and is absolutely packed with teams working non-stop to get their robots ready for the matches, and the energy in the hall is exhilarating. We also had great conversations with the other teams, about strategies, radio communication, and electronics. Everyone is extremely kind and willing to share knowledge and ideas. Despite the intensity of the work we still try to keep it light hearted and fun, as that is also an important factor of the competition! We rented a big cosy house so we can properly relax and unwind by the end of a long day. We also had 2 of our big sponsors, TU Delft Robotics Institute, and BGlobal, to name two of our robots. In particular, Pieter(Pieter Jonker) and Guus (Guus Liqui Lung) were two active supporters of a past TU Delft RoboCup team, and it is an honour to wear their name to the competition. Ecos is the nickname of BGlobal CEO’s daughter, and MRVN is the name of the mascot of the student association (Robotics Student Association) we are a part of. There is a lot of heart and support behind the team, we are so happy to carry these names, and we will do our best for the competition! #robocup #robocup2024 #eindhoven #robotsoccer #robot #robots #robotics #robotsoccer #robotfootball #robocupssl

🚘 We made it to RoboCup 2024 - Eindhoven! 🛠 After almost 2 years of hard work and a few weeks of intense preparation, we finally arrived at the battleground. Teams from all over the world have gathered here to show off the fruits of their labours, and to determine who made the greatest robots. 🥊 The first 2 days has already been quite crazy; lots of setbacks and mishaps, but with such an amazing and resourceful team no problem is met without a solution. We are extremely excited to see how well we fare against the other teams! ❤️ We could not have made it without all of our amazing teammates putting in incredible amount of effort! We would also like to thank all the companies, friends, and families that have supported us. Thank you all for helping us make it this far. More updates will come, please stay tuned! And come check us out if you have the chance! 🧦 P.S The socks are still available!
