Save the Date: National Heart Failure Week 2025 Join us in our vital mission to raise Awareness of Heart Failure in the Netherlands during the second National Heart Failure Week, happening from April 14 to 20, 2025. This year’s National Heart Failure Week was a huge success! With 22 healthcare organizations hosting over 40 activities across the Netherlands, reaching more than 10,000 heart failure patients, families, and healthcare professionals. In 2025, you can - together with the Delta Plan Heart Failure - make a difference and help us raise awareness about heart failure! Because heart failure daily claims the lives of 22 individuals, and yet 80% of the Dutch population are unaware of what heart failure is. Even more concerning, there are 255,000 individuals suspected to live in the Netherlands with undiagnosed heart failure, highlighting a hidden crisis we must address. The Delta Plan Heart Failure (Deltaplan Hartfalen) is a collaborative initiative by the Hartstichting and the Netherlands Heart Institute (NLHI), as part of the Dutch CardioVascular Alliance (DCVA). The Dutch Heart Foundation publishes the National Cardiovascular Agenda! We are thrilled to announce the launch of the national cardiovascular agenda of the Dutch Heart Foundation, developed with the insights of over ten thousand Dutch individuals and valuable contributions from a hundred researchers, healthcare providers, and patients. This ambitious agenda outlines the shared goals for addressing cardiovascular diseases, which remain the second leading cause of death in the Netherlands. With 1.7 million people currently affected by cardiovascular disease in our country, we firmly believe that change is not just possible but essential. How can we achieve this? Discover the answers in the report: ‘Landelijke hart- en vaatagenda.’ An English version will be available soon. Initiated by the Dutch Heart Foundation, this agenda acts as a roadmap to tackle the seven key priorities collectively identified. The Dutch CardioVascular Alliance proudly supports its partner in this impactful initiative and encourages its partners to read the report and collaborate for a healthier cardiovascular future.
