The event kicked off with a special video message from Erik Smidt, Agricultural Counsellor Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in China, highlighting the strong #NetherlandsChina partnership driving successful collaborations. With shared challenges in urbanization, food security, and biodiversity, both countries benefit from continued cooperation. 🇳🇱🤝🇨🇳 In the following, Annemeike Peters from Provincie Zuid-Holland shared the province’s focus on transforming its horticultural sector to achieve climate neutrality, sustainable growth, and high-quality production through innovation, collaboration, and strategic initiatives across its #Greenport clusters. 🌱 The Shanghai Municipal Commission of Agriculture and Rural Affairs representative Mr. Kang highlighted their ambitions to enhance #sustainable agricultural development by learning from Dutch expertise in high-yield, technology-driven agriculture, and they expressed a strong desire for future collaboration in #ModernFarming, particularly through advanced facility agriculture and #RuralRevitalization initiatives. Several members of the Chinese delegation, specializing in #Dairy, #RiceFarming and #Agritourism, #PumpkinCultivation, #DragonFruit products, and #Probiotics, pitched their companies, presenting their innovative solutions to the audience. 🌿 The latest developments in the Dutch horticultural sector were presented by several experts. Qingzhi Liu from Wageningen University & Research discussed the possibilities for AI in smart agriculture and horticulture. Thera Rohling from Greengrounds shared their vision to transform urban agriculture in cities like Shanghai by integrating advanced agricultural ecosystems into urban landscapes, promoting sustainability and local food security. 🌆 🌱 Maarten Hermus and Xiaoling Sun from InnovationQuarter explained how the governmental support works for international companies wanting to invest in the Netherlands and Fahui (Lowen) Liu presented on his innovative company, #NewProBioworks, and its production of protein raw materials. Lenny Dijkshoorn from World Horti Center closed the meeting after the delegation had visited the Dutch Greenhouse Delta partners the day before. Last week, we were honored to organize the meeting between a delegation from #Hebei province, led by Vice-Governor Zhao Dachun, and vice-governor Meindert Stolk of Provincie Zuid-Holland. The meeting allowed for discussions on Dutch horticulture and the shared challenges faced by both regions. 🎶 On July 5th, DSBP hosted two spectacular concerts at #KasteelDuivenvoorde!   🎻 Music unites people and cultures, a goal DSBP Consultants strives to achieve under the motto "𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵".   💰 The afternoon concert showcased amazing young talent and successfully raised €15,300 for the charity organization Local Heroes, dedicated to promoting healthy living patterns in African countries. #JaapdeHoopScheffer officially received the cheque from the young pianists. Last week on the 18th of June, DSBP Consultants co-organized the 2024 China – Netherlands Trade and Investment Cooperation Conference in the in Amsterdam. The event, targeted at New Energy cooperation between Sichuan and The Netherlands, provided an excellent opportunity for Dutch and Chinese companies to intermingle and create new business opportunities together. Our director Floriske Deutman, 薄芙蓉 signed an agreement with the Sichuan CCPIT on behalf of the Netherlands China Business Council.
