In biodiversity-rich regions 🌱 like Latin America, #sustainabilityreporting is increasingly vital to help companies and stakeholders understand the unique environmental, social & economic challenges. ⭐ Through a pilot program, 14 #GRICommunity member organizations – including four from #LATAM – become pioneers in the adoption of the #GRI101, Biodiversity Standard. 📚 The #GRIAcademy – the number 1 training provider for sustainability reporting – launched a Spanish version of the course 'Charting a greener path: reporting on biodiversity with #GRIStandards'. 🔎 A recent study by GRI, nuam and PwC found that 88% of companies in Colombia, Chile & Peru reference biodiversity in their reports. 📝 Through GRI Latam's Competitive Business Program, more than 3,000 SMEs – including 500 in 2024 alone – have produced their first GRI report. GRI welcomes the adoption of #ClimateDisclosure laws 🌡️ by the State of California and we support the California Air Resources Board (CARB) in developing the implementing regulations. As the architect of the global common language for #sustainabilityreporting 📝 GRI sees interoperability between California’s climate disclosure laws and leading global frameworks as essential to ensuring comprehensive reporting 🌎 Responding to CARB’s information solicitation request, we recommend that they ➡️ ✅ Facilitate alignment and reduce reporting complexity, including by accepting GRI’s #climate-related Standards as compliant with California’s climate disclosures. ✅ Encourage companies to use widely-adopted GRI disclosures for their climate reporting – particularly our forthcoming #ClimateChange Standard. 🔎 New GRI analysis sheds light on #transparency gaps in corporate #lobbying. Lobbying plays a significant role in shaping #publicpolicy, but global transparency remains inconsistent. Our latest research explores how fragmented lobbying practices, regulations & definitions can create risks, such as delayed action on #climatechange and global challenges 🌏 The publication offers recommendations for organizations to enhance accountability in their #politicalengagement, such as: ✅ Disclosure of lobbying activities that goes beyond legal compliance ✅ Aligning lobbying efforts with their sustainability commitments ✅ Establishing board-level oversight of lobbying activities The research supports an ongoing project to update #GRI206: Anti-competitive Behavior, which covers the impacts of organizations on institutions regulating economic exchanges 📝 Download the research publication 👉https://lnkd.in/dpZ2ZMRq

🚀 Last week, NTUC LearningHub launched the NTUC Sustainability Signature Programme - a groundbreaking initiative designed to help #SMEs seamlessly integrate #sustainability into their business operations. In partnership with GRI, NTUC LHUB co-developed the program’s modules, making this #Singapore’s first implementation-led #sustainabilitytraining initiative specifically tailored for SMEs. Delivering the keynote address, Singapore's Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, Grace Fu, reflected on the country's history of resilience and commitment to sustainability, inspiring businesses to take action and tackle today’s environmental challenges. 💭 "SMEs may be small individually, but collectively, they are important and powerful." These impactful words from Dr Allinnettes Adigue, Director of #GRIASEAN, resonated during the panel session, emphasizing optimism for SMEs on their journey towards sustainability. She highlighted that with the right guidance and resources, SMEs can successfully transition to sustainable practices and embrace #sustainabilityreporting, driving meaningful change at scale. A key highlight was the unveiling of the 'Industry Insights Report 2025: Driving Sustainability in SMEs' - a joint research effort by NTUC LHUB & GRI ASEAN 📃 The report identifies critical gaps & challenges in sustainability awareness, adoption and training among SMEs. Download the report here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gkgiUcEC This is just the beginning! We are excited to continue our work, empowering SMEs across the ASEAN region to drive meaningful and lasting impact.
