Meanwhile, environmental campaigners all over the world rely on satellite technology to expose global deforestation – but the basic systems in use are often unreliable and can’t provide a true, verifiable picture of deforestation. Now, just hours after the European Parliament’s vote to water down a ban on the import of everyday commodities such as beef, soy and cocoa linked to deforestation by backing a one year delay to the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), Satelligence’s work has never been so important – or as much in demand. Satelligence enables companies to confidently measure, manage and (most importantly) mitigate environmental risks in their supply chains.     This week, Hooton attended a thought-provoking session on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) at Soho House in Amsterdam. The event was packed, featuring an engaging panel that shared some eye-opening insights about the urgent need for tangible change in the creative industries. Here are some key takeaways that resonated with us: 1. Top-Level DEI Leadership Matters: It's crucial to link DEI leaders with executive teams to really shift company culture. With only 34% of women in creative director roles or higher, we need to boost diverse voices in leadership positions. 🔍 2. Cultural Intelligence is Key: Embracing cultural intelligence is essential for our success. By investing in initiatives that foster understanding and appreciation of diverse backgrounds among all employees, we can better serve our colleagues, clients, and communities. 🌍 3. Confronting Privilege with Honesty: Open conversations about privilege are vital to tackling biases that come with it. 4. Focusing on Cultural Innovation: As we look ahead, we must challenge the status quo and embrace discomfort in our quest for equity. This marks a major milestone for Schbang’s 1300-strong team, and a pivotal moment for the industry as the newly formed "addiktSchbang" brings together cutting-edge Indian tech, British storytelling, and Dutch design expertise all under one roof.     This week, Hooton attended the ‘Data x GUT Feeling’ creative collider, organised by ADCN | Club for Creativity and 100 Productions, at Soho House, Amsterdam. The event started with an insightful presentation by our client, Natalia Forster, Managing Director at GUT agency, followed by other industry leaders including @Emmanuel Adjei and Jhelisa Panfred. As the title suggests, the collider’s theme was gut feeling—where it comes from, how and when to trust it, and how it correlates with data (or not). Natalia, Emmanuel, Jhelisa and moderator Alessandro Tomasi participated in a lively panel discussion offering different perspectives and ways of working within the advertising industry. We particularly liked the notion of scaling bravery and making mistakes, to train your inner voice and build your confidence. One step at a time. 💫

    Last week we had the pleasure of holding HexClad Cookware’s Netherlands PR launch, an intimate evening at Keizer Culinair to celebrate innovation in the kitchen. 🥘 Brilliantly hosted by HexClad founder Daniel Winer and chef Daan van der Lecq, journalists had the chance to sharpen up their kitchen skills and test out the HexClad range with an interactive cooking workshop.     Every day, millions of people with disabilities face innumerous challenges – from broken lifts and missing ramps to stairs, cobblestones and narrow doors, not to mention the everyday prejudices. Prosthetics manufacturer Ottobock's latest campaign shines a light on this reality, reminding us that the toughest discipline isn’t just what we saw in the #Paralympic arena, but in overcoming the barriers that people with disabilities encounter outside of the sporting arena. As we continue to celebrate the after spirit of the Paralympic Games, let’s also take a moment to recognise those who inspire us both on and off the field. This campaign is a tribute to every individual forced to push against societal boundaries to redefine what’s possible.     I love it when I come away from an interview feeling completely inspired, and that's exactly what happened when I sat down with Jenna Barnet. She has had the most fascinating career, from her beginnings at Calvin Klein during its peak 90s fame, to becoming the global PR director for Gucci, working directly with Ralph and David Lauren, and now serving as CEO of Sunshine. “Calvin Klein was hot, that was the Kate Moss days. But Giorgio Armani was hot! Armani is just the most charismatic human on the planet and still is." I particularly enjoyed hearing about her and Al MacCuish's vision for Sunshine.
