💸 How much are students paying for their rooms? Kamernet’s latest Rent Report reveals that the average price of a room in the Netherlands has increased from €609 last year to €653—a 7.2% increase. Meanwhile, room availability has dropped in 14 of the 21 major student cities, contributing to a 5.2% decrease in the national supply. Kamernet also tracked apartment rental trends on its platform, showing an 11.5% rise in prices, with availability declining across nearly all cities. “These trends highlight the need for effective policies to address the housing shortage and increase the supply of affordable housing," says Djordy Seelmann, CEO of Kamernet, part of HousingAnywhere. “For those who will look for accommodation before another semester starts, it is wise to start early and consider options in other cities as well.” 📊 Curious about the average rent per city? 🚀📈 The latest HousingAnywhere Rent Index by City Q3 2024 is officially live! The HousingAnywhere International Rent Index for Q2 2024 reveals that European rent prices are regaining momentum with a 4.3% YoY increase. Out of the 28 cities analyzed, Dutch and German cities record the highest rents, while Italian and Spanish cities are gaining ground with substantial increases.  💸 “We are right at the start of the peak season for mobile students and young professionals looking for their new home before the start of the new semester after the summer, and we see rent prices picking up pace.
