The International Credit Insurance & Surety Association (ICISA) brings together the world's leading companies that provide credit insurance and/or surety bonds.
Founded in 1928 as the first credit insurance association, the current members account for 95% of the world's credit insurance business. Surety companies became members of the association beginning in the 1950s. Today, with almost USD 3 trillion in trade receivables insured and billions of dollars worth of construction, services and infrastructure guaranteed, ICISA members play a central role in facilitating trade and economic development on all five continents and practically every country in the world.
It was my pleasure to attend and speak at the 5th Annual General Meeting of AGCIA - Asia Guarantee & Credit Insurance Association in Hanoi, Vietnam. I commend AGCIA on its leadership in developing these economically important products in East and Southeast Asia. Although many markets have a long way to go, I was highly impressed by the level of knowledge and energy that the participants displayed.
I thank the hosts SGI서울보증 (Seoul Guarantee Insurance) and BAOVIET INSURANCE for their professionalism and great hospitality.

Event recap: Empowering women in male-dominated industries 🌟
Our launch event sponsored by ICISA - International Credit Insurance & Surety Association, was truly inspiring! A heartfelt thank you to our keynote speaker, Laure Jacquier LLM, Director at ICC Netherlands, for her impactful presentation on overcoming challenges and seizing opportunities in male-dominated industries.
Laure touched on the ongoing realities women face:
🔻 Under representation in leadership roles
🔻 A persistent global gender pay gap
🔻 The prevalence of workplace harassment and gender-based discrimination
🔻 Only 20% of top 500 fortune companies have effective gender equality policies
Despite these challenges, Laure left us with empowering advice:
🔺 Normalize care-giving for both genders
🔺 Celebrate success proudly, without minimizing it
🔺 Be open about struggles—it's okay not to have all the answers.
The energy in the room was filled with motivation and optimism: there are a lot of talented women out there, we will be visible and make an impact. Laure’s presentation gave us all renewed inspiration to continue pushing for change.
Thank you to Laure for sharing her story and to everyone who connected during the networking session. Together, we’re building a future of greater equality and support.
