In honour of #BlackHistoryMonth, we're spotlighting members of Invesco's EMEA Ethnicity Network (EEN). With this year's theme focused on 'Reclaiming Narratives,' we've asked members to share what being involved with EEN means to them.
First up, meet Morenike H. (Nikky). Nikky joined Invesco in 2018 and is a Senior Engineer in the Asset Protection and Threat Management team in our Henley office. As part of the programming for this month, Nikky is also hosting a book club for 'Afropeans: Notes from Black Europe.' The book explores the relationship between Africa and the African diaspora in Europe.
'What I love most about working at Invesco is the robust and engaging culture fostered through various D&I groups focused on inclusivity. The emphasis is on creating a supportive environment that encourages continuous learning, growth, and high performance. I have relished the opportunity to step out of my comfort zone by participating in several D&I initiatives, such as the Invesco Women’s Network seminars and the EMEA Ethnicity Network Cooking Series. Being involved in the EEN has also allowed me to supercharge my creative side with books, movies, gardening, and the occasional social events. If I had to describe Invesco in a few words, I would say it is dynamic, diverse, innovative, and a talent incubator.'
