We’re excited to share a glimpse from our latest campaign, where we capture a spontaneous evening where friends come together. We followed Eve and Kiana, who, after a long day at work, decided to head to Juni Juliet Wednesdays at Mondi South. Surrounded by music in the air, delicious bites being shared, and cocktails in hand as they enjoy the Mondi dushi bida (good life) . A warm welcome to our new hires! Each month, we organize a Mondi DNA session designed to introduce our newest tribe members to the heart and soul of Mondi - sharing our Caribbean story, traditions, and what makes Mondi special. And of course, no Mondi experience would be complete without tasting some of our signature dishes, that perfectly show our culinary approach. This month’s training was led by Eve, who guided our new team members on their journey to thrive within the Mondi tribe.

Who knew a cocktail could transport you to a tropical vacation? At Mondi New-West, we’ve crafted our own signature cocktails, exclusively available here. Each one is thoughtfully designed by our talented bartenders, who transform their creativity into stories inspired by the vibrant colors and flavors of the Caribbean. What makes them truly special isn’t just the taste (although, trust me, they’re amazing!). Every cocktail tells its own unique story—whether it’s the tropical sweetness of fresh fruit or the spicy kick that takes you straight to island adventures. With each sip, you’ll feel like you’re tasting the Caribbean, right here in Amsterdam. And then there’s the presentation. Picture this: your cocktail makes a grand entrance, wrapped in a cloud of smoke, thanks to a little dry ice magic. That burst of drama adds a whole new layer to the experience—like watching the story unfold right before your eyes. Already feeling thirsty? So are we! Luckily, our bar is open from Monday to Sunday, from 12:30 PM to 12:00 AM.

What does "Mondi" actually mean? Growing up on the islands, you spend a lot of time outside—going to the beach, exploring nature, and connecting with the jungle we call "mondi." In Papiamentu, the language of the ABC islands (Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao), "Mondi" means "untamed wilderness." The name Mondi holds a special meaning for the restaurant. It’s not just a place to eat; it’s a place that reflects the true Caribbean vibe. Bringing together people from all walks of life, Mondi serves as a bridge between cultures, inviting everyone to experience the warmth and richness of our own. It’s a celebration of shared stories, flavors, and traditions, where each meal becomes a journey into the heart of the Caribbean.

Meet Mio - R.F.M. Böhtlingk Dijkman Mio joined the Mondi Tribe in April 2021 and currently serves as the Restaurant Manager of Mondi South. Today, he shares his Mondi experience with us. 🔎 Describe your role in a few words. As a restaurant manager, my role is to ensure everything runs smoothly for our guests, that they have an amazing evening, and that they want to return. 🌟 What inspired you to join the Mondi team? I have been working for Corendon Hotels & Resorts since September 2016. After completing my vocational studies, I started working at The College Hotel in 2020. When Mondi opened its doors in April 2021 at this beautiful hotel, I was immediately inspired by the concept. Having visited Curaçao frequently since childhood, which feels like a second home to me, I instantly felt a strong connection with Mondi. ⭐️ What makes Mondi special? For me, Mondi is a unique concept that didn’t exist in the Netherlands. The twist on Caribbean dishes combined with different entertainment experiences makes it special to me. Every workday is a new adventure. 🌺 What is your favorite part of the Caribbean influence at Mondi? For me, the tacos are really delicious. If you love tuna, I highly recommend the tuna taco—it's absolutely amazing! 🏅 How important is the customer at Mondi? The customer is always our top priority. We do our best to provide our guests with a unique experience. 🗝️ What are your 3 pillars for customer satisfaction? 1.Enthusiastic staff who deliver top-notch service to our guests 2.Entertainment on another level 3.Delicious food 💡 Can you share a unique tip for first-time visitors to Mondi? To have a unique experience, I recommend dining on a Friday or Saturday. We have a DJ who plays various music that fits the concept, leading to a "Mondi Moment"—what that is, you'll have to experience it yourself when you're here! 💭 Describe Mondi in one word. Unique!

Twice a year, we love to refresh our Mondi locations with exciting new menus. Starting September 4th, Mondi South is incredibly excited to announce not only that Juni Juliet Wednesdays is back after his summer break, but also we will be debuting our brand new menu crafted by Justin Niessen. After countless hours of tasting and creating, Justin has developed not only some fresh new dishes but also revisited his roots to reintroduce several of his signature Mondi classics. Such as Risotto Stobá, Mondi Ceviche, Baka Ribs, Lomito Hasá, and more, alongside some brand new creations.
