Open Science is not an add-on but a crucial element for achieving robust, trustworthy research that benefits society. We reacted to the budget cuts for Open Science NL on their blog. You can react and leave your comment, too: https://buff.ly/3Y5SpEr Reaction text: The transition to Open Science is crucial for achieving robust, trustworthy research that benefits society. The Dutch Reproducibility Network is committed to transparency, efficiency, and research quality. Open Science NL, with its projects and plans for better infrastructure, evaluation, and replication studies, is a vital partner in this work. Proposed budget cuts to Open Science NL will seriously hinder progress, wasting previous efforts. We urge the government to reconsider these short-sighted cuts and stay committed to advancing research, sustainable innovation and societal impact.

Do you want to know how reproducible your research code is? Then join our next codecheck workshop on 26 September 24 at University of Twente. The topic is GIS - for any field: be it Environmental Science, Climate Science, Archeology or Urban Studies. If you use spatial data this is your chance to learn about reproducible pipelines and/or have your work checked. What is codecheck? A codecheck is a basic reproducibility check of your analysis/ research code. At the event, a codechecker (or a team of codecheckers) will rerun analysis code to see if the results are the same. Author and codechecker will get acknowledge for their efforts on the codecheck website: codecheck.org.uk Read more about a previous event at TU Delft here: https://lnkd.in/exJY_CfY Event Details: 26 September 2024, 9:30 - 16:30 hrs, University Twente Would you like to submit your work? Email us at codechecknl@gmail.com with a link to your repository or data/code dump. We will organize coffee, lunch, enough power outlets and research to reproduce. You bring your laptop and enthusiasm for transparent and impactful research. Hope to meet you in Twente! CodecheckNL Team: Frédérique Belliard Frank Ostermann Daniel Nüst Angelina M.
