„India is a sleeping elephant” is one of the common statements observers use to describe the massive potential of the subcontinent. Pondering my experience gained by attending the 14th Asia-Pacific Conference of German Business (APK),
I beg to differ: India, in my view, is nothing short of a tiger that is just about to leap.
To come to this conclusion, one doesn’t have to point out the demographics, talent base, sector growth figures, state investments in key tech sectors ore the many infrastructure projects lined up by the government.
My view rather is based on the interactions with the Indian and German governments, the dialogue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and his delegation, and even more so on the exchange with engineers and innovators of the industry and start-up companies of the German and Indian microelectronics ecosystem that I had the pleasure to attend in the recent days.
Few country’s workforce display the spirit, ambition and whole-hearted dedication to innovate and achieve such as the current generation of Indian microelectronics engineers and tech entrepreneurs. One textbook example of commitment to excellence I was able to experience at the occasion of Minister H.E. Mr. Robert Habeck’s visit to NXP Noida site.
At the Indian German CEO Roundtable that NXP had the honor to host, it became apparent what can be achieved if advanced system design, top-of-the-line software development and precision engineering meets with a deep understanding of the Indian market and the country’s societal demands.
The roundtable was followed by technology demonstrations from NXP alongside innovative solutions from Indian and Asian startups. These demonstrations covered various advancements, including those in electric vehicle (#EV) motorbikes, artificial intelligence (#AI), smart manufacturing, and 6G applications, illustrating the vibrant potential of Indo-German technological partnerships.
I’d like to extend my deep gratitude to my team for their unwavering dedication, an unmatched performance and excellent execution in preparing an overwhelming experience showcasing NXP Semiconductors’s technology to the German and Indian businesses.
You have really made me proud! 🤩🙏
