To drive innovation, growth, and education within the biotech sector, Planet-B.io launched two new initiatives last year: the 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐛 and the 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐛, located at the heart of Biotech Campus Delft. These labs aim to bridge a crucial gap in the region, providing access to fully equipped, ready-to-use laboratories that support the growth of startups, educators, and students in the white biotech sector. By integrating these labs within the ecosystem, Planet-B.io aims to provide a flexible, state-of-the-art environment where biotech ideas can transform into reality, helping create sustainable solutions for food, feed, materials, and chemicals. We spoke with Fenneke Anderluh-Jolink, Project Manager, and Maartje Mikx, former Education coordinator, to explore the journey and impact of these exciting projects. Our Shared Service Lab is co-funded by the European Union. #PlanetBio #BiotechInnovation #Biotechnology #Sharedlab #BiotechCampusDelft #SustainableFuture

Planet B.io is a fast-growing organization, with a team that consists of high performing professionals, glued together by fascination for biotech and passion to improve the world. At Planet B.io, we believe that the innovation power of modern biotechnology enables us to develop solutions that help the transition from a depleting, polluting, fossil-based economy, into a sustainable, biobased and circular economy. Our mission is to accelerate this transition. Founding partners of Planet B.io are Royal DSM, Delft University of Technology, Municipality of Delft, Province of South Holland and InnovationQuarter.

#CellulaireAgricultuur #PraktijkgerichtOnderzoek #Hogescholen #Biotech #FoodTech #NGF #Samenwerken

One dominant challenge many cellular-agriculture companies face is access to the single EU market. Various European policies and legislation directly affect the way their new processes and products are evaluated. Because of the complexity and size of these challenges, a collaborative approach is crucial. We are therefore very excited to the part of the new #APROVALS project. Here we will take an active role to collect concerns, opinions and strategic ways forward from cell-ag companies and experts in the field. These finding will then be collectively brought to EU policy makers through policy recommendations and other advocacy activities. We are very much looking forward to be working with the great consortium (Cluster Campania Bioscience, EuropaBio - the European Association for Bioindustries, Irish Bioeconomy Foundation, Genopole, SmiLe Venture Hub, VITAGORA POLE, TEKNOLOGIAN TUTKIMUSKESKUS VTT OY) and all relevant stakeholders. For the success of this project it’s fundamental to create as much sector involvement as possible, so we welcome you to be a part of these collaborative efforts. #cellularagriculture #Innovation #Europeanproject

𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐞𝐭'𝐬 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐁.𝐢𝐨 | 𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐞-𝐔𝐩 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 🚀 Yesterday, Planet-B.io hosted the Let’s Talk Bio | Scale-Up Event, and what an incredible day it was! Held at the beautiful and sunny TU Delft Hortus Botanicus, we brought together 4 key scale-up frontrunners, showcasing their expertise, equipment and how they can help businesses overcome the challenges of scaling biobased processes. From turning grams into tonnes to navigating the "valley of death," our amazing speakers - Mickel Jansen (dsm-firmenich), Hendrik Waegeman (Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant), Martijn Bekker (Wageningen Food & Biobased Research), Menno Rus (Plant One Delft BV), and Robyn Eijlander (NIZO) - delivered valuable insights on making the leap from lab to commercial production. It wasn’t just about the challenges though—it was also about celebrating the Dutch biotech ecosystem, as we marked hollandbio’s 10-year anniversary! 🎉 A big thank you to everyone who made this event possible and to all who attended! We’re more inspired than ever to continue supporting the growth of biotech startups and the future of bio-innovation. Here’s to scaling up together! 🌍✨ #Biotech #ScaleUp #Innovation #Ecosystem #Startups #BiotechMakesLifeBetter #ScalingBiotech
