During DGTL ADE, we had the incredible opportunity to support three cutting-edge startups in testing their innovations: 🗑️PLAEX Technologies with their revolutionary "Garby" bin, showcased how AI technology can significantly reduce waste. The entrepreneurs received invaluable user feedback, leading to crucial insights for further improvements. 📱Skik Analytics is paving the way for inclusivity and safety with their festival app. By engaging with festival-goers and behind-the-scenes teams, they are crafting personalized routes and experiences, making festivals accessible to everyone. ♻️ Starting 2024, festivals will bid farewell to disposable plastic cups and meal containers. Enter Ozarka B.V. , introducing reusable, custom-designed dishes. Their ingenious off-grid system uses electric car batteries to clean the reusables. At Revolution, we support events that aim to make a positive impact on the music industry and join them in their mission to provide a socially safe(r) and enjoyable festival/club experience. The safe(r) project was originally developed in 2021 by the front-runner organisation DGTL Festival. We helped them in the process of creating their social safety protocols and incident reporting system and provided a Social Awareness Team of over 20 trained people. Since then, we have also supported the events Amsterdam Open Air Into The Great Wide Open and Club Heart Broken with the same mission. Hopefully a lot more will follow! While on location at the festival or at the club, you’ll find members of our Social Awareness Team walking around. If visitors witness behavior that makes them feel unsafe, they can notify our Social Awareness Team, or reach out to them via the provided phone number. Our goal is to create an environment that is safe and welcoming to all. A safer dance floor is a collective effort. We want to emphasize that nobody is allowed to occupy a space, mind or body that has not been mutually agreed upon. Help us create an environment free from harassment, racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism and sexism. Exciting news! The Revolution Foundation, DGTL Festival, Oerol Festival, and Innofest Nederland are teaming up to support 7 companies, social projects, and students across the Netherlands in creating impactful test cases at DGTL and Oerol. We're on the lookout for #innovative initiatives and #art projects that contribute to a more #sustainable, #inclusive, and #diverse #festival and creative sector. We're not just limiting the impact within the festival grounds – think beyond! Consider the festival's surroundings, the paths people take, or the online festival environment. The test cases will take shape through a series of three #workshops. There are two test moments for all participants: one at DGTL (March 29-31, 2024) and one during Oerol (June 7-16, 2024). Throughout the process, participants will receive personalized guidance from a test expert to optimize results. After the final practical test at DGTL and Oerol, an evaluation workshop will be held. Participants will reflect on the test case and discuss potential future steps, ensuring that the data gathered is utilized to enhance the prototype. However, what we’ve found out is quite the opposite! The beauty of this blueprint is that it's replicable, paving the way for a circular event process that can be implemented at any event, anywhere. 🔈Spreading the Vision Now, our focus shifts to scale.
