Today we celebrate our members and growers, with whom we’ve been unlocking the full potential of the plant for 125 years. In March, our Cosun colleagues personally thanked the farmers for their collaboration and expertise, and learned about the power of the crop in the ‘Sweet Greeting’. This partnership with the national government and several key provinces is essential to supporting our sustainability ambitions for 2030 and will help us achieve our emission reduction goals, aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Hans Meeuwis: “We are dedicated to building a future-proof, sustainable chain. Key building blocks include a strong revenue model for our members, a relevant plant-based portfolio, and a commitment to making our supply chain more sustainable. Our ambition and the required investments needed for this transition are significant and require the right conditions to execute them well. These include securing permits, reliable access to the electricity grid, adequate technical resources, and strong, predictable policy implementation. Collaboration with governments is very important. So we are excited about this tailored approach to drive progress at six of our production facilities. By signing this Expression of Principles, all parties have a clear intent to support this vital transition, aligned with our 2030 ambitions.” We look forward to the next phase where we’ll work together with the government to overcome challenges and make our ambitions a reality. 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗻 125 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 | 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘁: 𝗟𝗲𝗼 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗻 Leo Pingen, senior product manager and product developer at Aviko Rixona, has worked at the Venray plant for 45 years, starting off as a chemistry lab technician. Since Aviko Rixona took over in 2005, he has been with Cosun.   𝘈 𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘳. 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶? “I’m proud of the development our plant in Venray has seen, my role in setting up Aviko China’s new factory in Gansu, and of course the development of several commercial product concepts. For Duynie and Stichting Samen Tegen Voedselverspilling, this is part of a daily mission: To cut food waste in the Netherlands in half by the year 2030. Whilst waste prevention may be the most important factor in completing this mission, utilising waste flows as much as possible is also essential. And maximising value from remaining raw materials is Duynie’s primary focus. Proving that it’s possible to build a successful company on a circular business model can be more than a one-of solution. The Diversity Charter is a European initiative, implemented in the Netherlands by SER Diversity in Business (SER Diversiteit in Bedrijf). Also present were Fouad O., Group Tax Manager, Diversity Ambassador, and Chair of the Works Council, and Masja Schmitz, Talent Manager. By signing, we reaffirm our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion - key pillars of our Cosun strategy and HR agenda - and to taking concrete actions in this regard.
