The Spatial ALD Innovator

Over ons

SALD, the innovator in Spatial ALD technology Atomic layer deposition (ALD) is a technology that produces very thin, conformal films with control of thickness and composition at atomic level. ALD is best known for the production of computer chips. The disadvantage is that it works slowly; each layer takes relatively much time. In 2008 TNO scientists developed a brilliant solution for this: Spatial ALD. With this new technology TNO was able to increase the production speed 5 to 10 times, while the coating quality remained the same.

𝐏𝐕𝐂𝐎𝐍 2024: 𝐃𝐚𝐲 2 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐲!    Our colleagues Pieter van der Marel and Jons Bolding attended a presentation by Professor Henk Bolink, a valued collaboration partner within European projects such as Nexus and Triumph. Henk Bolink, affiliated to the Universitat de València, are known for their work with record perovskite solar cells.   Jons Bolding is also going to present our latest results at 10:30, obtained together with ODTÜ-GÜNAM. We show that we can rapidly and uniformly deposit and apply SnOx, a crucial layer in perovskite solar cells, in small solar cells. In addition, we demonstrated that our AZO (ZnO:Al) layers can passivate defects on TOPCon solar cells, resulting in improved performance.   If you have any questions about these latest results, contact Jons Bolding directly for further explanation.   Coincidentally present at PVCON and want to make an appointment? Pieter van der Marel is ready to meet you!
