Breakthrough Innovations for Lighting
Over ons
Seaborough is a R&D company that develops and commercializes innovations in LED technology that drastically reduce electricity consumption. Seaborough introduced the groundbreaking OneTLed technology: an electronic solution that means that the next generation of TLED tubes can replace any fluorescent tube, regardless of which electronics are used in the existing fixture. OneTLed is now available for licensing. In addition, Seaborough and a team of technicians, physicists, and chemical engineers are currently researching and developing new materials in the LED lighting market that increase light output while reducing production costs and environmental impact. Seaborough is headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and owns one of Europe's best-equipped and most modern testing facilities. As a company that is part of the community we are committed to achieve a real and sustainable positive impact on the broader community. We want to ensure that our products contribute to reducing the impact on the environment.

Recently our Junior Scientist, Liselotte Nass, has co-authored a charming children's book titled Met mama naar Mars! 🚀 Liselotte's passion for science and storytelling has resulted in this wonderful book, that brings adventure and education to young readers. As a part of ASML scholarship program, she participated in a project to make technology appealing for the youth. This book is a wonderful way to inspire future generations of scientists. Congratulations Liselotte on this incredible achievement! #Seaborough #Innovation #Science #ChildrenBooks #Inspiration

Recently jens vroman, a chemistry student from Ghent University, has successfully completed his internship with our Materials team. Jens played a key role in our ongoing project, contributing significantly to the development of luminescent phosphors for warm white LEDs. At Seaborough, we believe that innovations flourish in a supportive and collaborative environment. We are happy to facilitate young talents like Jens in their career, ensuring that every team member feels valued and empowered to make a difference in the lighting industry. We wish Jens all the best in his future endeavors! #InnovationInLighting #MaterialsScience #LEDTechnology #Career

Inspiring the Next Generation of Innovators! Last month, we welcomed students from Open Schoolgemeenschap Bijlmer Amsterdam to Seaborough for their professional orientation experience. They explored our chemical and electronic labs, learned about natural and indoor lighting, and even took on a project to assemble an electronic circuit with LED! We believe it is important to introduce high school student to various aspects of working life, encourage them to think out of the box and inspire them to think about their future education and career. We are open for more events that foster learning and community involvement! #Seaborough #innovations #careerpath #sciencecareer

Recently, our Materials Team demonstrated world's first near-100% quantum efficiency ultra small YAG:Ce particles: Crystalight! We have also demonstrated strongly improved stability compared to state-of-the-art materials. This promising result brings our Crystalight materials one step closer to commercial applications. Visit our website or reach out to our Program Director Marie Anne van de Haar directly if you want to learn more about these materials, would be happy to talk! #nanomaterials #Cristalight #nanotechnology #materialsscience #innovation

Spotlight on nanomaterials at Phosphor Safari! Yesterday, our Materials Program Director, Marie Anne van de Haar, and scientist Vasilii Khanin presented our groundbreaking work in nanomaterials at Phosphor Safari in Taiwan. This conference is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our innovations in luminescent materials. The conference is still ongoing, and we’re excited to connect with more professionals. If you’re attending, let’s meet and discuss how nanomaterials can revolutionize lighting technologies. #Nanomaterials #PhosphorSafari #Innovation #ScienceAndTechnology #PhosphorAdvancements

We want to congratulate Dr. Jur de Wit on a successful PhD project and on obtaining his Doctorate degree! It was an extra special defense as our Program Director Marie Anne van de Haar served on the PhD defense committee as an external expert. Your exceptional work on the saturation behavior of LED phosphors was truly valuable and gave new insights into our material development process. Thank you for the good collaboration Jur, and we wish you all the best for the next steps of your career!
🎉PhD in the pocket! 🎉 Just over a month ago, on the 12th of June, I successfully defended my PhD thesis at Utrecht University! It was a very special day, being surrounded by many friends, family, and colleagues. A special thanks goes out to my paranimfs Mark Mangnus and Rein de Viet for their help in organizing the defense and for (literally) standing beside me. This achievement would not have been possible without the support and guidance of my promotor Andries Meijerink and copromotor Freddy Rabouw. Thank you for the kind and expert supervision, which helped me develop into the scientist I am today. I also want to thank Seaborough for helping realize this project and their valuable contributions to the academic research! If you want to know more about my work on luminescent materials, you can find my thesis here: https://lnkd.in/efixmMKr With this milestone behind me, I am looking forward to the future! I am currently learning a lot about the fabrication and characterization of Li-ion batteries in the group of Peter Ngene and Petra de Jongh as a post doc. Here, I have the exciting opportunity to apply my acquired skills in the field of luminescence (thermometry) to study heating effects in Li-ion batteries in a hands on project. Curious? Feel free to reach out!
