SMST’s automation packages perform excellently at high sea states! To ensure the best quality and workability of our equipment, we test it thoroughly in all conditions. Therefore, we have also executed autonomous gangway operations during rough weather with ~3Hs sea state. As can been seen in the footage, the system still works smoothly even under these conditions! The Active Tracking mode keeps aligning the gangway with the landing interface and the connection is assured by the Auto Connect. We are excited to announce that SMST has signed a second contract with Cochin Shipyard Limited for the delivery of a gangway, the Telescopic Access Bridge L2, for North Star’s next newbuild SOV.   The gangway will be outfitted with a 4t winch, enabling the vessel to handle cargo without the need for an additional crane. For optimal safety and efficiency, the gangway is also equipped with SMST’s automation packages, to automatically align and connect the gangway.   North Star’s hybrid SOV of VARD 4 19 design is set to operate at the ScottishPower Renewables East Anglia THREE offshore wind farm for a long-term charter, supporting Siemens Gamesa’s team of wind technicians in field.   We look forward to collaborating with both North Star and Cochin Shipyard once again! The number of jubilees is growing rapidly at SMST… in recent weeks we have celebrated 4 silver work anniversaries! Since 12,5 years our colleagues Ben van der Duim, Erik Frankes, Henk Ferwerda and Stefan Wolthuizen all have made an important contribution to the production of our offshore equipment.
