Artificial Nesting Structure (ANS) 4 – Installed & Ready for Nesting Season! RMi is proud to announce the successful installation of the fourth Kittiwake Artificial Nesting Structure (ANS) at Lowestoft’s North Harbour, just in time for the 2025 nesting season. This structure plays a vital role in supporting kittiwake populations as part of the mitigation measures for ScottishPower Renewables East Anglia ONE North and East Anglia TWO offshore windfarms. Our scope of work included:  ✅ Full fabrication & delivery to BS EN 1090 Execution Class 2 standards  ✅ Civils works including a newly constructed concrete base  ✅ Site installation and project management in full compliance with CDM regulations We’re proud to be part of an engineering project that not only showcases our expertise but also makes a meaningful environmental impact. Here’s to a successful nesting season ahead!  Photography Credit: Luke Martin #RMi #EngineeringExcellence #ANS4 #KittiwakeConservation #EnvironmentalImpact #RenewableEnergy #OffshoreWind #ScottishPowerRenewables #SustainableFuture

📢 Scottish Renewables and Offshore Wind Developers Call on UK Government to Rule Out Zonal Pricing 📢 A coalition of 17 offshore wind developers, representing 33GW of Scotland’s future clean power capacity, has joined Scottish Renewables and leading trade bodies in urging the UK Government to rule out zonal pricing and commit to workable market reforms that support investment and benefit consumers. Scotland’s renewable electricity generation is central to the UK’s clean energy future, with offshore wind set to play a leading role in delivering affordable, secure power. However, zonal pricing proposals pose an unmanageable risk, threatening project viability, jobs and supply chain growth. In a letter to Prime Minister Keir Starmer MP and First Minister John Swinney MSP, the industry has warned that policy uncertainty would stall investment at a critical time for the UK’s energy transition. Scottish Renewables is calling for a Reformed National Market, ensuring stable policies that keep energy costs low, accelerate deployment and secure investment in the UK’s clean energy future. 📄 Read the full press release: https://lnkd.in/gr6TFMEz. #REMA #zonalpricing #cleanpower #offshorewind

  • 🌟 International Women's Day: Accelerate Action for Gender Equality 🌟 Tomorrow, we celebrate the incredible achievements of women around the world. However, it's also a reminder of the work still needed to achieve true gender equality. Accelerate Action means taking quick and clear steps to break down the barriers and biases women face every day, both at work and in their personal lives. We need to pick up the pace and push harder to make the world fairer for everyone. Hear from Gillian Noble, our Managing Director of Onshore Origination and Development and chair of the ScottishPower D&I Committee, explaining why she believes gender equality is essential in achieving our business objectives💪🌍 #InternationalWomensDay #GenderEquality #AccelerateAction #IWD2025

  • Norfolk’s largest careers, skills and innovation event for young people kicks off tomorrow, giving 14 to 17 year olds the opportunity to explore potential career opportunities across different sectors 💚 The nearby East Anglia HUB is the heart of our UK offshore wind operations, so we look forward to attending and inspiring the next generation of green workers in the Renewables industry! #FestivalOfKnowledge2025 #SupportingTheFuture

  • This #WorldWildlifeDay, we are celebrating by reflecting on all the environmental conservation efforts completed by our ecology team at our Mark Hill Windfarm, in South Ayrshire. Over the past decade we have: 💚 Restored 549 hectares of peatland previously damaged by forestry and drainage – equivalent to over 1000 football pitches. 🌲 Planted 220,000 native trees with the potential to absorb over 5500 tonnes of CO2 every year, equivalent to over 3,900 cars, all while creating a diverse natural environment for animals and insects. 🐾 Created perfect environment for water voles, a protected species whose numbers have been declining in recent years due to habitat loss. 🦦 Built artificial otter holts which have been regularly used since their installation, giving safe spaces for mother otters to birth and raise pups protected from bad weather and predators. We are proud of what we have achieved at our Mark Hill Windfarm and will continue to invest in our natural environment, making sure that we are making positive change that lasts a lifetime.

  • 🌍 We aim to reduce absolute greenhouse gas emissions for our offshore projects by more than two-thirds by 2030, which means we’re always on the lookout for new and innovative ways of working. 🚤 Last year, XOCEAN deployed an Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV) to survey our East Anglia One windfarm, safely capturing multibeam and towed sonar data with a significant reduction in emissions compared to traditional survey methods. We look forward to seeing more low-carbon technologies like these deployed in future.

XOCEAN recently completed survey operations on ScottishPower Renewables East Anglia One, which is currently the largest offshore windfarm in Iberdrola’s portfolio. These complex surveys were completed using XOCEAN's fleet of Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs) fitted with hull mounted multibeam echosounders and a towed array featuring side-scan sonar. Despite the challenging weather conditions of late 2024, the USVs demonstrated their ability to operate year-round. • 🚢 We’ve published a new study in partnership with Stillstrom exploring the feasibility and benefits of integrating battery-powered Service Operation Vessels (E-SOVs) into offshore windfarm operations. 🔋 It finds that SOV electrification is technically feasible and cost-competitive with traditional marine gas oil-fueled vessels - and could deliver a host of other economic and operational benefits. 🌍 The report and its conclusions are being shared through the Operation Zero initiative, a group launched at COP26 in Glasgow which brings together developers and supply chain companies committed to making zero-emission O&M vessels a reality. Learn more about the study and its findings here 👇 https://lnkd.in/evcM2n5G
