𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐄𝐓𝐂𝐇 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 Moorfield Nanotechnology 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭? 💡 That would be the Soft Etching technology! But what is Soft Etching? Soft Etching is the application of precisely-controlled low powers for etching applications involving highly sensitive materials (such as graphene or PPA thermal resist) or where ultra-low etch rates are needed. This allows for the routine use of plasma powers <5 W (down to 100 mW or below, subject to configuration and process), with up to 20 mW control resolution. Examples of applications of Soft Etching are: ☑️ Substrate preparation for mechanical exfoliation ☑️ 2D material patterning ☑️ Defect engineering Discover more about the nanoETCH: https://lnkd.in/ej5NETZf Or directly download your brochure here: https://lnkd.in/e3AYW6FC

𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄 | 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐢𝐅𝐌 Since photo-induced force (PiF) is generated from the tip-enhanced field, which extends only about 20 nm from the apex of the AFM tip, PiFM enjoys excellent surface sensitivity along with ~5 nm spatial resolution. PS(polystyrene)-b-PTMSS[poly(4-trimethylsilylstyrene)] block copolymer (PS-PTMSS BCP) with horizontal lamellae is used to demonstrate the surface sensitivity. BCP is an excellent sample to demonstrate both spatial and depth resolution since the thickness of each block component can be controlled precisely by adjusting the molecular weights of the components. 👏 Great to see another happy customer making excellent use of the RTEC-INSTRUMENTS INC. MFT-5000 Multi-Function Tribometer. At the Technical University of Delft, Department of Engineering Structures, Phd student Yi Zheng conducts research on wood friction. 👉 Also check out his paper titled “Identification of the coefficient of sliding friction from an apparent non-Coulomb behaviour between wood and steel”, co-authored with Alessandro Cabboi and Jan-Willem Van De Kuilen. 📞 Feel free to contact us for more information on the MFT-5000 Multi-Function Tribometer. #TuDelft #RtecInstruments #SustainableMaterials #Friction #Tribology #DepartmentEngineeringStructures
Wood is a fascinating material — natural, sustainable, and widely used in construction, furniture, and even innovative engineering applications. But how does its surface interact under friction? That’s exactly what Yi Zheng is working on!🌳🏗️ In his research, he uses a tribometer to measure the friction and wear of wood surfaces under different conditions. To dive deeper into surface characteristics, he also employs a profilometer to analyze the microstructure and surface roughness. This study aims to help optimize the application of wood when friction is involved, such as in the design of timber high-rise buildings. 📸 Swipe through the pictures to see the process in action! 👉 Let’s connect and discuss how sustainable materials can shape the future of civil engineering. #SustainableMaterials #Friction #InnovativeResearch #Tribology #TuDelft #Citg #DepartmentEngineeringStructures
