    Two years ago, we took a leap of faith. We told our immigrant parents we were leaving our jobs at Nike—walking away from stability and comfort to build something of our own. It wasn’t an easy conversation, but we knew playing it safe wouldn’t lead us to where we wanted to be.     Super excited for The Oh Collective to partner with Feeld and 72andSunny for the “F*ck Around and Find Out” campaign in Amsterdam, taking over the red light district and creating a safe space for a like-minded community to come together. We joined a panel session hosted by Ashley Dos Santos (she/her), alongside panelists JeanPaul Paula I and Iona from The Queer Agenda. Here are a few key takeaways: ✨ Access to social media and information gave rise to Gen Z a much broader vocabulary to express their identities compared to millennials, which can be fluid and ever-changing. ✨ To me, to F*ck Around and Find Out is an oath to finding one’s authenticity and individuality. Almost like Charli XCX’s album Brat and its celebration of the “feminine contradiction” where there isn’t one dominant narrative that drives culture. We can feel anxious about what culture and society has taught us (eg. Being a mother by a certain age) but at the same time want to be counter culture, a bit naughty and playful! ✨ Embracing your inner child is crucial for self-exploration. ✨ F*cking around (metaphorically and literally) is essential and contributes to all of our individual journeys.     (🇬🇧 English version below) Denk terug aan de eerste keer dat je het woord 'schaamlippen' hoorde. Voelde je je ongemakkelijk of beschaamd? Dát is precies wat we willen veranderen. Waarom zouden we vasthouden aan een woord dat schaamte oproept? Stel je voor dat we allemaal 'vulvalippen' zeggen in plaats van 'schaamlippen'. Het zou de manier hoe we over ons lichaam praten en denken vol-le-dig veranderen. De woorden die we gebruiken, hebben kracht. Het woord 'schaamlippen' draagt negatieve emoties met zich mee en roept schaamte op. Dit is toe aan verandering. Samen met The Pleasure Society, The Vulva Gallery en met steun van The Social Code lanceren we de campagne #SCHAAMTELOOS. Onze missie? Het woord 'schaamlippen' vervangen door 'vulvalippen' en aan de Dikke Van Dale toe te voegen. Hoe? De Dikke Van Dale liet ons weten dat "hoe meer het woord 'vulvalippen' wordt gebruikt, des te groter de kans op deze positieve taalverandering." 💪🏻We hebben jouw hulp nodig om deze verandering door te voeren: 1. Deel deze boodschap met je vrienden en op social media #schaamteloos #vulvalippen --------- 🇬🇧 English 🇬🇧 What do you feel when you hear "shame"? Does it make you feel uncomfortable or embarrassed? Thát is exactly what we want to change. Over 50% of the Dutch population is unaware that there is shame associated with the words they use when talking about body parts. Shaamlippen (shame lips = labia), schaamhaar (shame hair = pubic hair), and schaambeen (shame bone = pubic bone) are just a few of them. Words have power. Why keep using one that makes us feel ashamed? Adopting 'vulvalippen' instead of 'schaamlippen' will completely change how we talk and see our bodies. The word 'schaamlippen' brings negative emotions and shame. This needs to change. Together with The Pleasure Society, The Vulva Gallery, and with support from The Social Code, we are launching the #SCHAAMTELOOS campaign. Our mission is to replace the word 'schaamlippen' with 'vulvalippen' and add it to the National Dutch Dictionary "de Dikke Van Dale." We were tipped that "the more the word 'vulvalippen' is used, the greater the chance for this positive language change." Your help can make this change happen: 1.
