🚀 Live from Classic Remise Berlin! 🚀    Today, we are bringing together HR leaders from across the region for the Top Employers Institute 2025 Executive Lunch in Berlin—a celebration of excellence in people practices and a deep dive into The New Belonging.    Our Top Employers were warmly welcomed by Patrik Rendel, Regional Manager DACH & CEE, before the event kicked off, hosted by James Faulkner. The agenda features insights from David Plink, CEO of Top Employers Institute, and Quinten van Es , Director of Research and Insights. Our Shanghai event is legendary. Clients rave about it every year. Last month I saw it for the first time, and what can I say? I was floored. But what really left a deep impression was the WHY behind it all. 16 speakers from well-known MNCs, 950+ attendees. A full day programme organised over all 3 event floors in the epic W Hotel overlooking the Bund river. I had the fortune to witness a tiny snapshot of the many months behind-the-scenes prep by Qi Zhang, Lavinia Lou, and the rest of Team North Asia. They juggled many nights of lost sleep, hair-tearing instances over last minute changes, and plenty of those hilarious comedy moments you get when everyone is on the edge and not always thinking straight. Yet all that pressure notwithstanding, never a single complaint. Why? It took me not just the day itself to see it, but the full week. From meeting clients, some of whom had flown in just for the event. Listening to how they speak about it, both before and after. And by joining meetings with the team, including the minute-by-minute show rundown. The event’s grown to its size today because over 100+ major MNCs and local enterprises bring entire HR teams to attend - or at least, as many as they can. But that’s because they involve every HR Function Head in our multi-week audit, to earn the Top Employer status. Across DEI, Talent Management, Total Rewards and more - leaders and teams work hard to explain the rationale behind their people practices. Every pillar undergoes rigorous questioning. Initiatives they have poured time and effort into over the full year, covering an often-sizeable employee population, go through close scrutiny. So of course, after all that, the celebration is a massive moment of pride for their HR teams. Photos aside, the moment onstage is more than optics. Besides, how often do you really get your Group HR VP or CHRO with their hair down, in a good mood, catching up with teams over a hard-earned dinner? That’s not all. After the celebrations, they re-strategise. Then they work even harder to improve for next year. All to stay ahead of business demand, and an ever-rising high bar in the world of HR. Yes, it’s a massive team effort to put the event together. Every single individual, in every function, pulled weight. But that collective commitment is driven by the commitment from our own client pool for what we do. It’s the fruit of extensive cross-cluster collaboration on our part, but all to celebrate and recognise the same for our clients. I come away with newfound respect for the passion and pride for the market.
