At VIDA bioenergy, safety is a top priority, and we continuously invest in measures that enhance workplace safety. As part of this commitment, we have implemented the SiteZone system for mobile plant operations at our Glentham site in the UK. This system improves awareness and reinforces safe working practices by providing real-time alerts, helping us move closer to our goal of zero incidents. We look forward to expanding its use across other locations. In honor of UN Zero Discrimination day and International Women's Day, we hosted several awareness events at VTTI to focused on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. This week was all about listening and learning, with the goal of building a workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered to thrive. We took time to reflect on how conscious and unconscious biases can hold people back. Recognizing and addressing these biases is vital to building a stronger and more inclusive work environment. We also introduced our new Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEI&B) Policy, which is more than just a document - it embodies our company values of Care, Connection, Passion, Agility, and Integrity. This policy underscores our commitment to ensuring that every individual at VTTI feels valued, respected, and empowered. Yesterday, a delegation took part in the 'Women at the Port' event at the Port of Rotterdam. There, our colleagues gained valuable insights into what it takes to ‘fix the system’ which requires collaboration and unity to create an inclusive and equitable workplace in the port industry. "Diversity, inclusion, and belonging are not just 'nice to have' - they are essential for our growth, innovation, and long-term success. While we are proud of the progress we’ve made, we recognize that building an inclusive culture is an ongoing journey. 🔷 VTTI extends the open season deadline for Project #Amplifhy for submitting Expressions of Interest and signed NDAs by one week, now closing on March 7, 2025 at 18:00 CET. This one-time extension applies equally to all parties, ensuring that every interested party has the opportunity to request the Expression of Interest and submit this together with a signed NDA before the new deadline. The open season for Project Amplifhy is VTTI’s initiative to establish a European network of ammonia import terminals and ammonia crackers. This process aims to gauge market interest and facilitate capacity reservation and allocation for ammonia storage and ammonia cracking at our terminals in Rotterdam and Antwerp. VTTI has entered into an agreement with Pyrum Innovations AG, an expert in the recycling of waste tyres via thermolysis, to develop a state-of-the-art waste tyres recycling thermolysis plant at VTTI’s Antwerp Terminal (ATPC). This agreement marks a significant step towards integrating sustainable waste management solutions into VTTI’s infrastructure and marks another important step in Pyrum's international expansion plans. The project entails the construction of a waste tyre recycling thermolysis plant with a processing capacity of up to 90,000 tonnes of End-of-Life Tyres (ELT) annually. Guy Moeyens, CEO of VTTI, commented on the partnership: "This collaboration with Pyrum marks a significant step in our journey towards a more sustainable future. By integrating cutting-edge thermolysis technology into our existing infrastructure, we are not only diversifying our energy portfolio but also contributing to the circular economy. Last week, our LNG team had the opportunity to engage with industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators at India Energy Week 2025 - a key event shaping the future of energy. One of the key themes was India’s rapidly growing energy demand. The International Energy Agency’s latest India Gas Market Report projects a 60% increase in natural gas consumption by 2030, highlighting the need for stronger infrastructure and enhanced supply chain collaborations to support this growth.   "As VTTI continues to expand its LNG portfolio and develop strategic infrastructure, events like these are essential for fostering partnerships that drive energy accessibility and sustainability," said Parth Jindal, Senior Vice President LNG at VTTI. VIDA bioenergy, a fully owned subsidiary of VTTI B.V., is pleased to announce that its facility in Glentham, United Kingdom has injected its first biomethane into the UK’s National Transmission System. The plant will produce over 60 GWh of biomethane annually, which is enough energy to heat over 5,200 homes. “Thanks to the great collaboration with National Gas, we are now able to inject gas into the grid. I would also like to thank our team and all the many contributors from our suppliers to our neighbors for all their support in making this project come to fruition. Biomethane is fundamental to making the energy transition happen, so we are delighted to see the plant now operational and contributing to the UK’s overall energy mix,” says Lars Boetje, CEO of VIDA Bioenergy. VTTI has been awarded EUR 8 million in co-funding from the European Union’s Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) programme for Project #Amplifhy at its Antwerp terminal, located in the Port of Antwerp. With this funding, VTTI will conduct pre-FEED and FEED studies to develop ammonia import and cracking infrastructure in Antwerp, strengthening its role in the future hydrogen economy. With ammonia import terminal and cracker projects in both Rotterdam and Antwerp, VTTI is uniquely positioned as the only developer advancing such projects in both key industrial hubs. Both locations have been designated as Projects of Common Interest by the European Commission, highlighting their strategic importance. Meanwhile, VTTI is also actively developing additional locations.
