Sonia works in our Delft office and brings her international experience and passion for intercultural collaboration. Sonia has worked in various roles, including project manager, junior marketing manager and consultant, developing exceptional communication and teamwork skills —key ingredients for success in project management.   She holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business from Karlsruhe, Germany, and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Culture and Sociology at Erasmus University in Rotterdam. 👉We are also very pleased to welcome Derek Paardekooper as Controller at Zander Labs, also based on our Delft office.  Derek’s extensive expertise in finance, process optimization and business improvement will be invaluable in linking strategic initiatives with actionable financial insights. With more than 15 years of experience in small and medium-sized businesses in various industries, Derek brings his knowledge to ensure smooth and efficient financial processes. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Applied Sciences of The Hague and a postgraduate degree from the University of Applied Sciences of Rotterdam. Congratulations to the Boehringer Ingelheim Foundation and the Austrian Academy of Sciences on the establishment of the AITHYRA Institute in Vienna, which focuses on the advancement of AI-driven biomedicine. The AITHYRA Institute will focus on novel research approaches for biomedicine and gain a deeper knowledge of biomedical relationships to better understand diseases, enable faster and more reliable diagnoses and support the development of treatments for diseases that are currently considered incurable. It's inspiring to see the continued growth of AI-driven research and we're confident that this new institute will play a crucial role in shaping the future of medical innovation. Moonshot progress update! 🚀 We are very pleased to share some exciting updates on our Neuroadaptivity for Autonomous Systems (NAFAS) project. In the first nine months, we have reached some milestones that we are very proud of: ✅ First patch prototype We have launched the first prototype of our mobile, wearable and comfortable EEG patch. Initial tests with electrolyte gel as contact material look very promising! ✅ Fully assembled team Our talented team is now fully in place, with all the expertise we need to move forward. (But hey, we still have some incredible job opportunities in our Delft, Berlin and Munich offices!) ✅ Introduction of the LAB controller We have rolled out a Phase 1 demo of the LAB Controller, which centralizes lab processes, streamlines studies and digitizes reports. This increases the efficiency and accuracy of our data acquisition and, with that, the quality of our research. ✅ Three operational laboratories Our labs in Delft, Munich and Cottbus are now operational and ready to expand our research capacity. ✅ Extension of the paradigm database We are expanding our paradigm database to collect more data for more mental states to drive the progress of our project. NAFAS is an endeavor funded by the German federal agency Agentur für Innovation in der Cybersicherheit GmbH (Cyberagentur) - “Innovation for Cybersecurity" that seeks to revolutionize human-computer interaction and artificial intelligence through neuroadaptive technology. This journey has only just begun and we are thrilled with the milestones we have reached so far.
