Job Description

As a People Relations Specialist in the Netherlands, you have responsibility and accountability for the People Relations areas such as implementation of global deliveries and processes, policies, and guidelines. You secure that local laws, practices and needs are captured and catered for. You facilitate alignment between global and local needs to achieve a common approach and delivery where needed.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide legal support, secure compliance, and represent H&M Group as an employer in the local market
  • Be responsible for the local Grievance mechanism and supporting tools
  • Be responsible for Work environment (physical, digital, organizational, and social work environment/psychosocial) and Wellbeing including health and safety management
  • Act as strategic and operational support for various stakeholders at regional/sales market level, including management team
  • Give expert advice on People Relations and support to managers, HR, and other functions in the local market working multi-brand
  • Responsible for negotiations with local works councils and trade unions, including collective bargaining.
  • Implement and adapt H&M Group CoE People Relation guidelines and frameworks according to local laws and set local strategy for stakeholder engagement


You will be working in a team with 4 people relations specialists where everyone has their own focus area. The vacancy we are looking for is a colleague with a focus on Dutch employment law.

Qualifications

To be successful in your role, you have a holistic approach and proactively ensuring market intelligence, you enable agile solutions, compliance with existing and upcoming legislations, mitigate risks and solve problems to support the business needs. You must possess strong communication, influence, and assertiveness, offering sound and convincing recommendations and advice. Being open-minded and empathetic is essential to build trust with stakeholders, while maintaining a strategic perspective with keen attention to operational details.

What you need to succeed:

  • An education in HR, employment law or policy development and/or relevant work experience in this field.
  • Knowledge of current labor legislation, best practices and case law.
  • Experience in supporting transformation and implementation strategies.
  • Project management skills - the ability to organize activities, set priorities and deliver results within a clear time frame.
  • Open-minded and empathetic personality to engage with stakeholders and build trusting relationships to achieve common goals.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Dutch and English.


Additional Information

This is a fulltime position (38 hours – minimum 24 hours), starting 01.08.2024. The role is a hybrid role, based in Netherlands, RCEU.
