As we continue to grow our digital portfolio we are looking for a User Experience Designer who will be responsible for working as a member of UL’s product teams to understand business goals and user requirements to deliver UI design assets for UL’s software products websites.
The User Experience Designer also has advanced knowledge of additional user-centred design activities including workshop facilitation, requirements gathering, wireframing, research, and/or information architecture. This role will work directly with our engineering team to ensure the quality of designs is delivered through working code.
What You’ll Learn & Achieve
Lead UX design activities on initiatives from beginning to end for UL’s digital products and websites
Work closely with engineering teams during the sprint cycle to ensure required design assets are delivered. Collaborate during the sprint cycle to refine designs as needed.
Understand and advocate for the client and end-user needs
Work closely with cross-functional teams to help define business and feature requirements, user scenarios, and use cases
Create UX and design assets including process flows, site maps, conceptual diagrams, wireframes, and mockups to effectively communicate high-level design strategies and detailed interaction behaviours
Present design solutions in ways that communicate the value of design decisions
Work closely with product stakeholders to ensure a full understanding of the product teams needs and priorities
Participate in weekly team meetings and design reviews
Work within project timelines, deliver design assets based on the product roadmap
Evangelize user experience and user-centred design throughout the company
What Makes You a Great Fit
Bachelor’s degree or demonstrated experience Usability, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology or relevant field
Expert knowledge of modern design/prototyping tools
Solid experience in User Experience design experience or demonstrated competency
Working knowledge of front end development, experience with modern Html/CSS, SCSS/SASS, and/or Angular frameworks such as Material Design.
Demonstrated ability in one more additional area of user-centred design such as; content strategy, information architecture, or visual design
