𝗬𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗷ø𝗱𝘁'𝘀 𝗜𝗧, 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗣 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗜 – 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗰𝘆 & 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀. The partners Christopher Tehrani (Stockholm) and Inge Kristian Brodersen (Oslo) held an introduction to the current legal landscape. Followed by our two external speakers: ▪️ Law Off The Shelf, founded by Olle Westerlund and Liselott Lindberg Both are lawyers and have developed a product for legal practitioners to improve their workflow using AI. Not only is it more time efficient, but it takes away the repetitive elements. ▪️ Magma, represented by Björn Runow By combining the passion for math, learning and new technologies, Magma have developed a tool to ease classroom teaching. Now launched in Sweden, US and the UK, Magma provides instant feedback to pupils and optimize the workflow for teachers – leaving room for learning. It is Björn's take that AI is not here to replace, it is here to improve what we already possess. Key takeaways: ✔️ The tool in forefront is the ChatGPT O1, now resonating and providing output on a PhD level. ✔️ The AI Act complements the GDPR, making it essential to prioritize fundamental principles like privacy by design. ✔️ The key to AI is finding the right fit for your use case. If your company is still in the experimental phase, seek expertise to tailor a solution that fits your workflow. ✔️ For an even better end-result, consider leveraging multiple AI systems to enhance both the content and the visuals. ✔️ Human oversight is crucial, as demonstrated in Magma's approach. Since AI, unlike math, isn't always perfectly consistent, the platform ensures that all information is verified before use. This post was not suggested by AI. 👋 Schjødt's experienced IT, Tech and IP lawyers are always ready to assist you in navigating the challenges of AI and ensuring compliance throughout your deployment phase.

📰 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗿𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 On 2 October 2024, the Swedish Tax Board (the "Board") issued an advance ruling on the taxation of carried interest from a private equity fund. As we have noted in our previous news updates, the taxation of carried interest has been a contentious issue in Sweden for over 15 years, involving ongoing disputes between the Swedish Tax Agency, fund managers and investment professionals. Despite hundreds of cases being reviewed and decided by the Swedish administrative courts, there is still a high degree of uncertainty. In many of the cases, the courts have held that carried interest should be taxed in the same way as dividends on qualified shares in closely held companies, i.e. in accordance with the so‑called 3:12 rules. However, in numerous other cases, the courts have instead sided with the Tax Agency's position, treating carried interest as income from employment. This new ruling offers valuable insights into the Board's and the Tax Agency's current views. Read more in our newsletter. 👇 https://lnkd.in/dseSMdrM
