Mit unseren Kunden ist es ein bisschen, wie mit den Kindern – man kann nicht sagen, welchen man lieber hat als die anderen 🙊 Bei manchen Kunden, freue ich mich aber extradoll, wenn ich sie einem größeren Publikum zeigen darf. Carbon Centrum ist ein gutes Beispiel dafür. 👉 Als #Startup unterliegt das Team einem hohen Performance-Druck. Nutzungszahlen spielen eine riesige Rolle dabei, datengetriebene Entscheidungen zu treffen – der perfekte Anwendungsfall für TelemetryDeck. 👉 Die App unterstützt Nutzer*innen dabei, ihren CO₂-Fußabdruck zu verstehen und zu reduzieren. Dass das ein wichtiges und zukunftsorientiertes Thema ist, muss ich wohl nicht erklären. Großartig, dass wir das Team rund um Onur Güven bei dieser Mission unterstützen dürfen! 👉 Die #App CarbonID fordert umfangreiche Zugriffsrechte auf Bewegungs- und Standortdaten der Nutzer*innen an, damit das Tracking automatisch im Hintergrund laufen kann. Das sind extrem sensible Daten. Natürlich unterliegt Carbon Centrum mit Standort Norwegen ebenfalls der DSGVO, doch darüber hinaus geht das Team die Extra-Meile und tut alles, um die Privatsphäre der Nutzer*innen zu schützen. Wir sind also nicht nur technologisch ein guter Fit, sondern auch, was die unternehmerischen Werte anbelangt. 90% of companies get the CO2 race wrong. Only 10% focus on what really matters: Most companies manage their emissions via Scope 1 & 2. (aka emissions from direct operations and purchased energy) - heating - cooling - electricity - fleet fuel demand The problem is that they ignore the Scope 3: (aka emissions from all indirect operations) - waste - investments - supply chain - use of sold products To put things in perspective: Apple's emissions are 98% in Scope 3 Tesla: 98% in Scope 3 Shell: 95% in Scope 3 It's easy to calculate the energy need of a building. It's difficult to calculate the impact of the materials and use of our products. But this is exactly where we need to go, to tackle climate change and unlock new business opportunities. Why don’t Norwegian startups scale to become global leaders? Where are the Norwegian 🦄 Unicorns? It was great fun and highly energizing being on this panel at Arendalsuka where my take was the following( from 20:00 in the video link in comments) 1 🚀 New requirements to successful scaling - and Norway is behind - today you have 5 years not 25 years to build winning position globally 2 💲Much more VC capital/ funding required - it easily takes 200 MUSD in “losses” to take position - VC capital at scale is required - we have far to little 3 🇳🇴 Our best tech founders have left Norway - we need to bring many of them back and keep the next generation here to build ecosystem and pay forward - Silicon Valley Style :) 4 🏅Norway need to attract much more highly skilled global tech talent - and put the incentives in place - tech tax breaks, rapid tech Visas, great option schemes .. here we’re moving in the wrong direction 5 🌍 To win in the new world - where VC capital, AI and Climate change serves as accelerators for change - Norway meeds to adjust its industrial policy and taxation models - we have lots of work to do - but I am optimistic - our foundation is strong - all we have to do is to wake up ⬆️🙌😅 Thanks to my co-panelists Petter A.
