Om oss

ExploCrowd is an Exploration Team based on CrowdSourcing, that wants to disrupt the way we explore for oil and gas in Norway. We want to build and secure competence within Oil & Gas Exploration through the market turmoil, by building a database of Ready-to-Drill Prospects to be available to Oil Companies. This will be achieved through creating an optimal workspace for explorationists, enabling creativity, innovation, competence- and knowledge building. ExploCrowd will use CrowdSourcing and the Principles of Sharing Economies to enable explorationists to unlock their potential and create value for themselves, customers and the society. Our mission is to maintain and build exploration competence in the community and create possibilities for oil companies to rebuild their exploration portfolios, for them to save time and resources, thereby accelerating the creation of jobs in the Oil Industry Chain in Norway when the market turns.

Curious about this topic? If you are speaking any Scandinavian language, tune in to the Financial News TV this afternoon at 14.30, where Sidsel Lindsø will be live with Marius Lorentzen, discussing exploration, CCS and Brussels. https://tv.finansavisen.no

I gave a talk and shared our ExploCrowd insights from the Barents Sea Region at the Norwegian Offshore Directorate seminar last week, where I took the chance and sneaked in a section on 'Exploration philosophy and -strategy'. Here, the week after, I'm glad I did it, because it was very well received in the audience, both by the young generations and the many exploration legends in the hall. 💡And now you can read this part of the talk too - and I hope you will, because this perspective is important. https://lnkd.in/dFg-r6Jc #exploration #energypolitics #energysecurity #NCS #strategy

🇸🇪🇳🇴 Strengthening the Carbon Capture & Storage Value Chain: A collaborative effort! Yesterday, Team Norway - Royal Norwegian Embassy in Stockholm, Gassnova SF and Innovasjon Norge - hosted an insightful seminar focused on Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS). Representatives from both Swedish and Norwegian governments and industries gathered to share knowledge and discuss the current landscape of CCS.                 Key Topics Covered:  👉 Current Status of CCS Value Chains: An overview of developments in the Nordics and Europe  👉 CO2 Logistics: Opportunities and challenges for both domestic and international CO2 transport  👉 Carbon Dioxide Removals: Sweden's role as an early mover in this crucial area     🗣️ Engaging discussions took place between both biogenic- and fossil CO2 emitters from several industries, CO2 storage asset developers, and wide range of government representatives. There are interesting opportunities for Sweden, Norway and the Nordics within Carbon Dioxide Removals. This is an advanced topic where there is still need for further dialogue, understanding and alignment between government and industry – preferably also on a Nordic level.    🤝 Thanks to all stakeholders and experts that took part in forming this session with insight and expertise! State secretary Daniel Westléns participation and keynote was highly appreciated!                                                                                                                     Energidepartementet (Norge) | Swedish Ministry of Climate & Enterprise | Miljødirektoratet | Swedish Environmental Protection Agency | Mission Innovation Carbon Dioxide Removals     Simon Patterson | Karin Comstedt Webb | Benedicte Caroline Storebø | Imran Abdul-Majid | Ulrika Wedberg ♦️ | Mattias Sandell | Julia Ahlrot | Karolina Unger | Tomas Thyblad | Kenneth Möllersten | Erik Rylander | Aslak Viumdal | Jørild Svalestuen | Sidsel Lindsø     Aud Kolberg | Ivar-Jo Theien | Robert Nygardhs | Hildegunn Kristiansen Strand | Hege Koppang | Gustav Frizon | Camilla Bergsli

Stockholm showed itself from its brightest side, both with sunshine and inspiring discussions, at yesterday’s event “Developing Carbon Capture & Storage – Cross Country Value Chains”.   It was a pleasure to participate and deliver the closing remarks at such a dynamic seminar. One of my key takeaways from the day and the following discussions is the crucial role that due diligence services should play in ensuring the success of geological CO2 storage. Comprehensive assessments are essential for shaping the business cases we’re all rooting for.   Meeting and engaging with participants representing Swedish emitters, authorities from both countries and other stakeholders, further reinforced the importance of keeping the dialogue going. By continuing our discussions in both formal and informal settings, we can address concerns and accelerate the deployment of CCS within the Nordic alliance.   A big thank you to Innovation Norway, the careful orchestration by Ivar-Jo Theien, and the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Stockholm with Ambassador Aud Kolberg, for organizing such a bright and thought-provoking event. I am traveling home with the words of State Secretary Daniel Westlén fresh in my mind: “Let’s move forward with determination and hope”.

Curious about the main take-aways from the talk last week? Check this out 👇🏽

Being served chilled champagne while listening to insights from the world of geological CO₂ storage and politics is not bad on a random Tuesday afternoon at ONS - but our messages are actually quite important and worth sharing once more.   We have heard really positive feedback from many people who learned something completely unexpected, and it makes our ExploCrowd hearts sing.       So here are the main take-aways for each of the topics covered during our presentation:     🌍The Scientific Basis of Geological CO₂ storage: Geological CO₂ storage is more complex than most expect   💪🏼The Dynamics of Conflicting Interests: Strengthen capacity and competence of authorities   🔎The Cautionary Tales: Do your due-diligence properly and professionally   🧐The Net zero Industry Act: Let your legal team follow the NZIA developments closely

When preparing for the ONS CO2 & Bubbles talk I promised Christoffer Mouritzen that I would include a good explanation to the audience that CO2 injection is NOT as ‘easy’ as producing oil and gas (hence, assuming it’s the same physics, because it’s not. My creative solution for visualising this aspect happens to be quite popular in later conversations. People like it because it made the complexity so clear - so here it is! 👉🏼 Getting champagne out of a bottle is significantly easier than injecting a bottle of champagne into a bottle that is ALREADY FULL 🍾🥂 🤓 THIS is the reason why CO2 storage capacities are so low - because it is challenging to increase the pressure in the existing bottle to make space for more champagne. If you pump up the pressure too high, the bottle breaks - and that can’t happen. (📸 taken and shared by a good friend) #CO2storage #CCS #Nerderi&Bobler ExploCrowd
