Hans Kristian Flaatten 🕊️🍉from NAV is speaking now at #unleashcon Nav is a government agency that is responsible for managing 1/3 of Norway's national budget. No pressure. Hans shared how they moved from quarterly releases to 2,500 weekly deployments using feature flags. That’s right, from 4 releases a year to 2,500 a week! 😲 Key takeaways: * Feature flags helped reduce the risk of rolling out new welfare services to citizens. * They’ve streamlined their deployment process, which allows them to push updates quickly and safely. * NAV’s journey is a perfect example of how you can go from slow, painful quarterly releases to daily innovation. Erik Johs @ Medidata Solutions a Dassault Systèmes company talking at #unleashcon now. He is taking us inside their high-stakes world of clinical trial management where downtime isn’t just frustrating—it comes with heavy financial penalties. 💸 Feature flags helped them experiment in production without exposing users to bugs or downtime. Key takeaways: * In regulated industries, mistakes can lead to six-figure fines. Next up at #unleashcon Vibhu Srivastava and Norbert Borecki Tink, A Visa Solution "Managing a monolith with feature flags" Vibhu and Norbert are sharing how managing a monolithic service with feature flags reduced the risks of rollbacks in large deployments. 🚧 It’s not just about turning a feature on or off – it’s about isolating potential issues and reducing the blast radius of bugs. DT reminded us that knowing the technical benefits of feature flags isn't enough when it comes to driving change across an organization. 🤔 Sure, they improve deployment speed, but how do you prove it in $$?
