🔄 Lighting Replacement Without Shutdowns at University Hospital of Nord Norge (UNN) 🔄 The University Hospital of Nord Norge (UNN) has successfully upgraded all patient rooms with new, energy-efficient LED lighting without requiring any shutdowns or ceiling modifications! The state-of-the-art hospital is the largest in North Norway and opened its doors in 2001. Currently, it's updating all 34,000 light fixtures within the coming two years. All patient rooms have now undergone a hassle-free lighting upgrade. This means no room closures and no extensive cleaning, ensuring continuous and uninterrupted patient care. 💡 The EU's RoHS directive, effective from August 25, 2023, bans T8 fluorescent tubes, prompting the University Hospital to switch out their outdated lighting. Understanding the need for quick and smooth transitions in an active hospital environment, UNN chose a replacement option designed to keep interruptions to a minimum. When will the ferry dock? Don’t worry the lighting will tell you! ⛴️💡 A new zero-emission electric ferry in Norway will give passengers an extra notification when it’s time to dock through innovative smart lighting in its passenger lounge. The lighting gradually brightens as it approaches its destination. When the ferry docks the lounge lighting will be on full. This extra notification is ideal for hearing-impaired passengers. The human-centric lighting in the passenger lounge is connected to the vessel’s navigation and positioning system and uses geofencing, which combines awareness of the vessel’s position with awareness of its proximity to its destination so that when the ferry reduces speed and gets closer to the harbour, the colour temperature and intensity of the lighting increase. Glamox provided a full lighting package for this cool new ferry that goes into service later this year with Torghatten Nord.
