🚀 Official launch of the DSTrain programme 🙌 Today, we kicked off the DSTrain postdoctoral programme with a seminar at the University of Oslo! 🎉 Thanks to everyone that could join! So great to see so many of you in person! Also thanks to everyone that could join through Zoom! We look forward to see you here in Oslo soon. 🇸🇯 A highlight of the day? The energy and ambition from the 16 talented postdocs who pitched their projects. 🌟 Add to that the engaging discussions with our dedicated supervisors and the invaluable networking opportunities! Thanks to everyone that contributed 🙏 ✅ DSTrain is a 5-year postdoctoral programme that will award 36 postdoctoral fellowship positions of 36 months each in two calls over the programme period within the overarching frame of data science. Den første Digitaliseringsforelesningen ved Universitetet i Oslo (UiO) i regi av SFF Integreat - Den fikk jeg holde🤩 Å få lov til å gå i dybden på et temaet- og særlig kunstig intelligens for min del- reflektere og diskutere med studenter, vitenskapelig og administrativt ansatte er rett og slett en glede. Join us for dScience Lunch Seminar with Sondre Wold on Thursday Nov. 7 at 11:30- 13:00 at the dScience Lounge. Sondre will discuss the challenges of compositional generalisation in language models, examining their limitations in handling basic tasks and potential strategies for improvement. Sondre Wold is a PhD candidate at the Language Technology Group at the Department of Informatics, University of Oslo, researching how we can better combine language models with structured knowledge representations, such as knowledge graphs. 👏 Stor takk til digitaliserings- og forvaltningsminister Karianne Tung som avholdt Digitaliseringsforelesningen 2024 på Universitetet i Oslo (UiO) | University of Oslo i dag! 🤩 Dette var den første Digitaliseringsforelesningen, som skal bli en årlig tradisjon. Vi gleder oss til å arrangere den hvert år fremover! 🦾 ✅ Forelesningen og diskusjonen var et viktig møte mellom ministeren og universitetet, som har et svært viktig ansvar for forskning og utdanning innen kunstig intelligens. ➡️ Statsråden gjorde opp status for digitaliseringen i Norge, og viste til den nye nasjonale digitaliseringsstrategien. Med denne strategien, sa Karianne Tung, setter vi retningen for det digitale Norge frem mot 2030 og for å gjøre Norge til det mest digitaliserte landet i verden. 👏 Thank you, Aksel Braanen Sterri from Langsikt, for an outstanding talk arguing that AI’s sustainability is a societal choice. Sterri made his case for carbon taxes to reduce AI’s environmental impact and emphasised the need for international AI safety efforts. 🌿. The talk was part of our seminar series on sustainable machine learning that directly supports Integreat’s objective (two): sustainable and green machine learning 🏁🌿. ⛳ Integreat's four scientific objectives are: 1) accurate knowledge-driven machine learning, 2) sustainable and green machine learning, 3) fair, explainable and trustworthy machine learning, and 4) machine learning with quantified uncertainty.
