Revolutionizing seafood production with cutting-edge remote control 🐟 At Lerøy Aurora, we prioritize sustainability and efficiency in every aspect of our operations. From our growth center in Hansnes, our dedicated operators skillfully manage fish feeding in cages spanning from Tromsø to Kirkenes, utilizing advanced remote control and real-time data. This innovative technology not only promotes optimal fish growth but also significantly reduces our environmental impact, ensuring a sustainable and targeted production process. By continuously monitoring vital factors such as oxygen levels, temperature, and current conditions, we tailor our feeding strategies to meet the specific needs of the fish, regardless of the weather. With this system, a single operator can produce up to 50 tons of fish in just one day—equating to approximately 200,000 meal portions. Furthermore, our remote-controlled solutions cultivate a dynamic professional environment, encouraging ongoing knowledge sharing and collaboration among our team members. With a new digital record system, all fish health documentation related to the production of salmon and trout will be collected. This gives Lerøy a data base with enormous potential for fish health 🐟 The journal system facilitates health promotion work throughout the entire life cycle of the fish. - With "Fiskehelseportalen", we can map and compare groups in a more efficient way than today. It makes it easier to implement measures and work more preventively with improvement measures towards the health of the fish we are responsible for, says fish health coordinator, Linn Maren Strandenes. After about 4–6 weeks on land, our sugar kelp and winged kelp is now being put into the sea. The kelp has the potential to reach a weight of 240 tonnes by the time it is harvested in April 2025. The kelp is great to eat, as it has an unique umami-taste. Kelp can also be used in feed for farm animals, including cattle. Cattle produce very high methane emissions, and if they eat kelp, it actually means they burp (and fart) less! Kelp has also been shown to improve the intestinal health of piglets, reducing the need for antibiotics 🌱 Read more: In English: https://lnkd.in/drdxh3ik In Norwegian: https://lnkd.in/dAJccKKp #OceanForest #LeroySeafood #Kelp
