Nordic Aqua featured in a CGTN Program! Watch Andreas Thorud and Heidi Berg in an interview about new opportunites for China-Norway business ties. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Norway. The two nations have maintained close cooperation in areas such as trade, commerce and culture. As a Norwegian enterprise in the Chinese market, Nordic Aqua Partners is committed to fostering cooperation and joint development between the two nations in #sustainable #aquaculture through new quality productive forces.

On August 28, 2024, the 18th Shanghai International Fisheries and Seafood Exhibition World Seafood Shanghai was successfully inaugurated. Nordic Aqua captured the spotlight at this renowned trade event with the debut of our Nordic PureAtlantic salmon. Nordic Aqua significantly increased the presence at this year’s expo compared to last year. A key feature of our booth was the display of our Nordic PureAtlantic salmon, launched in April this year. The setup offered value chain partners and potential customers a closer look at our premium product with superior freshness. Nordic Aqua operates a state-of-the-art land-based aquaculture facility on Gaotang Island in Xiangshan county of Ningbo, using advanced recirculating aquaculture system (RAS). This initiative fulfills the vision of farming and supplying Atlantic salmon locally in China, offering Chinese consumers a fresher alternative to the imported Atlantic salmon. Simultaneously, the 7th Global Salmon Industry Development Summit proceeded as scheduled, bringing together leading experts from various countries and regions to explore the future development of the salmon industry in China. Andreas Thorud, Managing Director of Nordic Aqua, was invited to deliver a keynote addressing on the worldwide trends of land-based Atlantic salmon farming. In his speech, Andreas Thorud noted:  "The global salmon market is seeing several companies pursuing alternatives to traditional farming to increase supply of Atlantic salmon in light of growing demand. Nordic Aqua, a pioneer in land-based Atlantic salmon farming located in China, is eager to partner with local stakeholders to make Nordic PureAtlantic available to consumers in the growing Chinese market." Since its launch, Nordic PureAtlantic has garnered positive market feedback. This success not only contributes to China's goal of becoming self-sufficient in seafood but also enhances the variety of products available in the domestic aquaculture market. Chinese consumers now have access to high-quality, fresh, safe, and sustainable Atlantic salmon. As we look to the future, Nordic Aqua will uphold its mission and vision by prioritizing advanced, scientific, and sustainable farming approach. By continually innovating and striving for quality improvement, we aspire to support the attainment of "Healthy China 2030" initiative.

And what an eventful quarter it has been! 🤗 Here are some highlights: 🔹Second quarter harvest of 523 tonnes HOG with an average weight of 4.54 kg HOG and superior rate of 99%  🔹Average sales price EUR 8.94 / kg HOG in Q2 🔹Geosmin issue in July, continuing into Q3 causing lower turnover and significant reduced harvest in H2/24 🔹Excluding the geosmin issues, good operational and biological performance for all batches 🔹Excellent fish health and welfare 🔹Q2 biomass production of 1,014 tonnes. 🔹Total biomass of 2,432 tonnes by quarter end 🔹Strengthened commercial and operational organisation  🔹Available liquidity of EUR 10.4 million as of 30.06.24 🔹Due to reduced harvest and CAPEX related to geosmin, additional equity financing of approximately mNOK 250 will be raised 🔹All primary insiders that are large shareholders and have access to this information (Kontrari AS, AKVA group AS, Aino AS and Maringto AS) are supportive to the company and have all indicated to contribute to its funding needs going forward. This week, we were delighted to have a visit from Skretting. They met with Ragnar Joensen the CEO of Nordic Aqua Partners, as well as Andreas Thorud, the Managing Director of Nordic Aqua, and their team. Skretting, part of the Nutreco Group, is a pioneer in providing innovative and sustainable aquatic nutrition solutions as well as services worldwide. As one of Nordic Aqua's key strategic partners, Skretting supplies specialised feed for Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) to ensure the healthy growth of Atlantic salmon. The Skretting delegation included Ricardo Kandelman, Executive Board Member, SHV group (owner of Nutreco), Bastiaan Van Tilburg, CEO, Skretting, Hege Høydal, Head of HR, Skretting, Jason Yang, General Manager, Nutreco China, as well as other team members. During their visit, they toured the RAS unit and feeding room to learn about the growth of Atlantic salmon and received an introduction from Nordic Aqua on the current aquaculture and operational status. Ragnar Joensen stated, "We place great importance on our strategic partnership with Skretting because high-quality feed is fundamental to ensuring the healthy growth and disease resistance of Atlantic salmon. Balanced feed nutrition is the key to achieving this goal. Additionally, feed quality is crucial for the quality of the fish meat."
