This week, we were delighted to have a visit from Skretting. They met with Ragnar Joensen the CEO of Nordic Aqua Partners, as well as Andreas Thorud, the Managing Director of Nordic Aqua, and their team. Skretting, part of the Nutreco Group, is a pioneer in providing innovative and sustainable aquatic nutrition solutions as well as services worldwide. As one of Nordic Aqua's key strategic partners, Skretting supplies specialised feed for Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) to ensure the healthy growth of Atlantic salmon. The Skretting delegation included Ricardo Kandelman, Executive Board Member, SHV group (owner of Nutreco), Bastiaan Van Tilburg, CEO, Skretting, Hege Høydal, Head of HR, Skretting, Jason Yang, General Manager, Nutreco China, as well as other team members. During their visit, they toured the RAS unit and feeding room to learn about the growth of Atlantic salmon and received an introduction from Nordic Aqua on the current aquaculture and operational status. Ragnar Joensen stated, "We place great importance on our strategic partnership with Skretting because high-quality feed is fundamental to ensuring the healthy growth and disease resistance of Atlantic salmon. Balanced feed nutrition is the key to achieving this goal. Additionally, feed quality is crucial for the quality of the fish meat."

Norway is famous for its seafood industry, in particular salmon. Traditionally farmed in Norway. Now the Norwegian company Nordic Aqua Partners has brought its expertise, technology, vision and commitment to China and launched its Nordic PureAtlantic salmon in the Chinese market. Nordic Aqua Partners AS, as the first commerically large scale land-based Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) facility in China, has on 29th April launched its Nordic PureAtlantic salmon in China with a ceremony in Xianshang County, Ningbo. Currently, Nordic Aqua is having a 4000 tons production capacity, while their phase 2 with another 4000 tons is under construction and is to be finished by the end of 2025. An additional phase 3 is planned to bring the total production capacity to 20 000 T in 2027. Nordic PureAtlantic uses a RAS system delivered by AKVA group, as well as fish feed from Skretting. In addition, close collaboration with the local government has been a significant factor for the successful realizing of the project. Consul General Lise Nordgaard gave a speech at the launching ceremony in the city of Shipu, Xiangshan county congratulating the company and local authorities on this milestone. She also met with vice-mayor of Ningbo, Li Guanding and Party Secretary of Xiangshan county Bao Chaooyang during her visit. NORDIC AQUA ON SCHEDULE TO MAKE FIRST HARVEST FOR CHINA MARKET Nordic Aqua Partners experienced good operational performance in the fourth quarter with construction works for Stage 1 completed on time and on budget. Biological performance was good for all batches – with strong growth, a mortality rate below 1.6% and no signs of maturation.
