🌟 New preprint out! 🌟 What if we could emulate and reproduce randomized controlled trials (RCTs) using Norwegian real-world data? Well, now we’ve done just that! Our latest study emulates the KEYNOTE 042 trial using Norwegian health data, comparing pembrolizumab to platinum doublet chemotherapy as first-line treatment for advanced non-small cell lung cancer (aNSCLC).The analyses detailed in the paper found that the overall survival of the patients who fit the study protocol was similar to the results of KEYNOTE 042. 📊 This work highlights the power and potential of Nordic real-world data (RWD) in target trial emulation studies and for external control arms. I arbeidet med artikkelen har vi etterligna ein studie basert på protokollen til KEYNOTE 042, der pembrolizumab er samanligna med cellegift for førstelinjebehandling av pasientar med avansert ikkje-småcella lungekreft. Mål på totaloverlevelsen hos dei norske pasientane som passa inn i studieprotokollen viste seg å være ganske lik den tilsvarande i KEYNOTE 042, noko vi argumentar for er prov på nyttepotensialet i norske helsedata, i tillegg til at funna er interressante frå eit norsk behandlingsperspektiv. Det har vore både kjekt og spennande å jobbe med dette, og vi håpar at det kan være eit verdifullt bidrag til både forskingslitteraturen, og bidra til kunnskap om nasjonale forhold.
