NorSun welcomes the recent announcement from the U.S. Department of Treasury, which includes solar ingots and wafers in the 48D investment tax credit. We deeply appreciate the Biden Administration's continued efforts to strengthen the resilience and security of the U.S. energy supply chain. The Treasury's final guidance on the CHIPS ITC rules is a major milestone in reshoring the entire solar supply chain, a goal we share as we prepare to expand our operations in the U.S. As National Economic Advisor Lael Brainard stated, "Today’s final guidance provides critical certainty for semiconductor and solar manufacturers to make generational investments in communities across the country." The Solar Energy Industry Association (SEIA) also welcomes the announcement. "Supply chain accessibility and security remains one of our biggest challenges in the US solar and storage industry. While the United States is a global leader in module manufacturing, we don’t have any ingot and wafer facilities in operation yet, representing a critical gap in the solar supply chain", said Abaigail Ross Hopper, President and CEO of SEIA. The Solar Energy Manufacturers for America (SEMA) expressed satisfaction and a brighter future for the US solar energy industry. "The final 48D rules will help solar manufacturers unlock the full potential of the CHIPS and Science Act by providing critical support for efforts to reshore the entire solar supply chain. We applaud Treasury’s final CHIPS ITC rules, which clarify that domestic solar ingot and wafer manufacturers can access this landmark incentive. The Biden-Harris Administration’s efforts will drive significant investment in domestic solar ingot and wafer manufacturing capacity, currently dominated by China, help meet our economic and national security goals, and support thousands of good-paying jobs across the country", said Mike Carr, Executive Director of SEMA. NorSun is working hard to get the final approvals for the projected 5GW wafer manufacturing plant in Tulsa. We have been introduced to several highly competent and engaged partners. One key partner for NorSun going forward is Action Group Staffing. I have been cooperating with Shane Nelson and Rosa Andrea Diaz for some time, and they have, together with their team, provided NorSun with insights, market intelligence and lots of good advice on how to build a proper pipeline of talent to our new wafer manufacturing plant in Tulsa. #actiongroupstaffing #norsun #tulsa #solar
