Today we're making history! 🎉   Together with Forsvaret - Norwegian Armed Forces, Forsvarsmateriell - Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency and St1 Nordic Oy, we marked our first delivery of biofuel on the defense sector's flights today at Ålesund Airport Vigra. This is part of our agreement with the Norwegian Armed Forces, where we will replace conventional fuel with 15 percent biofuel on over 250,000 business trips annually in the defense sector from 2024 to 2028. This is a groundbreaking agreement in NATO and the largest biofuel agreement in Norway's aviation history ✈️♻️   Thank you to Chief of Defence Eirik Kristoffersen, FMA Director of procurement Per Arne Johnsen Johnsen, CEO of St1 Henrikki Talvitie and our own Geir Karlsen for speaking about the importance of this agreement. In September, Norwegian had 2,263,270 passengers, while Widerøe had 356,259 passengers, totalling 2,619,529 for the group✈️ “I am pleased that we have increased load factors throughout the summer and into the autumn season, while at the same time delivering double-digit capacity growth. The autumn school holiday period in Norway is performing well, and we are looking forward to a busy October ahead and an upcoming winter season with many new and exciting destinations. While we are happy with the performance, we are not complacent. We are actively managing costs to mitigate any upcoming challenges,” said Geir Karlsen, CEO of Norwegian. Our first ever Norwegian Expo was a success! 🎉   Last week, colleagues from all over Europe travelled to Oslo to participate in our first expo for employees ✈️ It was a great opportunity to connect with colleagues from all our departments, share ideas, laugh together, and learn more about the important role we all play in making Norwegian operate smoothly. Let's do it again sometime! 🤩

Denne uken hadde vi besøk av førstegangskullet av studenter og lærere fra flyingeniørstudiet ved NTNU 🎉   Over to dager fikk de lære om hvordan vi opererer vår tekniske drift og hvordan våre flyingeniører jobber. I tillegg viste vi selvfølgelig frem hangaren og lageret vårt på Oslo lufthavn, og fortalte mer om viktige temaer som sikkerhet og bærekraft i luftfarten. We had a significant increase in capacity year on year, while at the same time improving both the load factor and the yields from August 2023. I would also like to thank our dedicated colleagues for all the hard work they have been putting in throughout the summer,” said Geir Karlsen, CEO of Norwegian. Regeringen i Sverige avskaffar flygskatten. Ett mycket glädjande och välkommet besked eftersom det frigör mer resurser för omställningen till ett hållbart flyg. ✈️ - Jag vill rikta ett stort tack till infrastrukturminister Andreas Carlson som har stöttat och kämpat för flyget och som regelbundet har pratat om flygets betydelse för Sverige. Vi är även mycket tacksamma över den fina dialog vi har haft med infrastrukturministern och regeringen. Norwegians mål är att minska utsläppen med 45 procent till 2030 och det ska vi göra med moderna och bränsleeffektiva flygplan, effektivare flygningar och fossilfria bränslen, säger koncernchef Geir Karlsen.
