Our member TP-Products AS deliver flanges for use within the O&G and the wind industry worldwide. Their patented structural wind flange solution for use in floating wind structures, transition pieces and turbine towers is based on proven technology, has very high strength capacity and is maintenance free (no retightening of bolts are needed and no corrosion on flange surfaces). Using TP-Products' structural flanges in floating structures, assembly time can be reduced considerably, smaller assembly sites are needed and more flexibility with respect to use of personnel compared to use of welded solutions. Used in transition pieces and turbine towers, smaller diameter and weight reductions up to 50% and more can be achieved together with OPEX savings compared to use of traditional flange solutions. TP-Products’ have already delivered structural wind flange to floater projects and the flange solution is under assessment for use in other wind projects/concepts as well. -We are working very hard every day to tell the wind industry that by using our flange technology cost savings and considerable assembly time reduction can be achieved, says Helle Hundseid, Sales & Business Development Director – Wind.

Om oss
Norwegian offshore wind is the largest representative offshore wind body in Norway with the overall mission to develop world leading supply chains within floating wind. In 2021 Norwegian Offshore Wind was awarded status as an ARENA Pro Cluster, through Norwegian Innovation Clusters. Our members range from small startups to multinational companies. Norwegian Offshore Wind grew out of the Marine Energy Test Centre (METCentre) in Haugesund. This is where the world’s first floating wind turbine was installed already in 2009 and is still running today. In just a few years, the Norwegian offshore wind industry has grown rapidly, and so has our cluster. Norwegian Offshore Wind now represents both supply chain companies and developers. As such we have a strong voice in both political and industrial arenas in Norway. On an international level, we help our members to gain access and succeed in the key offshore wind markets, especially within floating wind. We are industry driven, agile and have a strong market focus. Our members are organized in working groups led by industry representatives. Norwegian Offshore Wind aims to be a hub for information and knowledge sharing, as well as representing the industry in national and international forums for offshore wind development. We help suppliers find each other and enable developers to meet the supply chain by taking them on tour around Norway.. Each year, we organise the national conference for offshore wind in Norway, Havvindkonferansen, and the flagship international event for the global floating wind industry, Floating Wind Days.

A port visit in Portugal calls for a selfie, because the ports help us to really understand the big picture in offshore wind 📸 Despite stormy weather a Norwegian delegation visitied several of the ports in Portugal this week. One of them, Port of Aveiro, is among the main hubs for offshore wind. The Port of Aveiro has the fabrication capacities of Siemens Gamesa and CS WIND Offshore located near the port, and port authorities have announced that they will make available three areas, totaling more than 19 hectares, for the installation of component factories and structures. -It's very intersting to see Portuguese ports preparing for offshore wind operations. We are looking forward to more cooperation with them in our Working Group for Ports, says Astrid Green, who is responsible for port development in Norwegian Offshore Wind. Portugal has set the ambitious objective of 10 GW of offshore wind by 2030. -Portugal has great wind conditions and one of the largest areas of sea in Europe. Several developers are targeting the market and the Norwegian supply chain has great synergies with Portugal, says Einar Tollaksvik, Working Group Leader for Portugal in Norwegian Offshore Wind. The Conservative Party must secure a predictable future for offshore wind in Norway. This week Høyre has their national congress. Together with Norsk Industri, Norwegian Shipowners' Association (Norges Rederiforbund), Fornybar Norge and Offshore Norge we urge the conservative politicians to be clear on their offshore wind policy as they discuss their political strategy during their national congress. We have three important messages: ✅ Be clear in their support for continued investment in offshore wind in Norway, and actively contribute to long-term framework conditions, including good grid solutions. ✅ We challenge the Conservative Party on what their plan is for ensuring that the investment in floating offshore wind continues. Floating offshore wind offers great opportunities for Norwegian technological development, export, and jobs. This requires investments, support for innovation, and the development of a domestic market. ✅ Finally, we hope that the Conservative Party will secure a timeline for regular allocation of new areas for offshore wind in Norway. We are not subsidizing unprofitable technology when we provide initial support for a large-scale investment in offshore wind. In Norway's biggest newspaper VG - Verdens Gang AS we answer critics who want to pause offshore wind in Norway, claiming it will never be profitable. CEO Arvid Nesse and Leader of our steering committee Ivar Slengesol write: "Of course, we support investments in research and development of new technologies. To ensure profitability in offshore wind, it is crucial that Norway leverages its pioneering role in floating offshore wind to test new solutions and research innovations. However, we must remind ourselves that the lesson from bottom-fixed offshore wind is that industrialization is the most important driver for reducing costs. The energy costs (LCOE) for bottom-fixed offshore wind have halved several times in the last ten years. Pausing the investment in offshore wind would therefore be unwise". Hats off for port investments in the UK! Highlands and Islands Enterprise has approved up to £10 million to support the Port of Nigg 🏴 This support will result in the creation of a new heavy-duty quayside and the introduction of roll-on roll-off capability. The project, which is subject to formal approval by Global Energy Nigg Limited, will increase capacity and capabilities at the port, attracting new companies and investment while supporting operations across the country’s growing offshore wind operations, according to a press release. Highlands and Islands Enterprise investment forms part of the Scottish Government’s commitment to strategically invest up to £500m over five years to anchor the nation’s offshore wind supply chain. -This is great news from Scotland! Port of Nigg capabilities and strategic positions make it a gateway to the Scottish offshore wind market. With the investment strategy Port of Nigg will also have a unique position and timing to the emerging floating offshore wind market. Norwegian Offshore Wind sees the Scottish Wind market as the most suitable for many of our members and we believe building partnership between Norwegian and Scottish counterparts is of utmost importance for creating a strong and sustainable supply chain in the North Sea, says Tor Arne Johnsen, EU advisor in Norwegian Offshore Wind.
