We are excited to announce our Webinar WCTRS-SIGB1 on the cutting-edge ResC4EU Resilience Assessment model on the World Conference on Transport Research Society (WCTRS)! This is a unique opportunity to explore the model that empower Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) to enhance resilience against supply chain disruptions and assess vulnerabilities. 📣 World Conference on Transport Research Society (WCTRS) - WCTRS SIGB1 Webinar 🎯 Announcement and Presentation of the ResC4EU Resilience Assessment model for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) 📅 Date: Tuesday, November 5, 2024 🕓 Time: 09:30 – 11:00 CET (UTC+1) 🔗 Zoom Link: https://shorturl.at/Mm2qu 🔑 Meeting ID: 81477323797 🔒 Password: 773123 What to Expect : This interactive session will introduce the model that provides SMEs a self-assessment to measures the resilience through a comprehensive Resilience Assessment Score. This Score highlights whether the firm’s resilience is balanced or unbalanced, helping to identify areas for improvement. The model also provides insights into critical vulnerabilities and offers targeted capability recommendations, including multi-tier supply chain visibility and environmental impact metrics. Featured Speaker: Debarshee Bhardwaj, an esteemed supply chain professional and researcher at the Institute of Shipping Economics and Logistics (ISL) with experience across academia and industry, will share his expertise on this innovative model designed to prepare SMEs for future challenges. International projects and networks play a crucial role in Scaberia’s daily operations. We always welcome opportunities to connect with project partners and potential business collaborators on a global scale, particularly to learn about their initiatives and explore new joint project opportunities. In mid-October, our Scaberia team travelled to Krakow, Poland, to represent two of our EU projects: GreenOffshoreTech and ResC4EU. As the Operational Coordinator of the ResC4EU project, our primary focus on the first day was attending the General Assembly (GA) of ResC4EU, held at the Łukasiewicz Institute of Ceramics and Building Materials, located next to the historically significant Oskar Schindler’s Enamel Factory, famously featured in the film "Schindler's List” which we also visited. This visit served as a powerful reminder of the core values and origins of the EU as a ‘peace project’, reinforcing the significance of our work funded by the European Commission. The following day, our Scaberia team participated at the KOMPOZYT-EXPO®, the 13th International Trade Fair for Composite Materials, Technologies, and Products, which took place from October 16-17, 2024, in Krakow. One of the highlights of the event was the grand opening of the ResC4EU platform on the main stage, marked by a ceremonial press of the ‘red button’ followed by a champagne toast to celebrate the EU funding aimed at helping SMEs enhance their resilience. We also had the pleasure of meeting Virginie Perron from the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) who provided valuable guidance as our interim EU Project Adviser in GreenOffshoreTech – big thanks for your support! On the second day of the fair, our Scaberia team engaged in extensive discussions with representatives from Korea and Germany, as well as global players in the carbon fibre industry. We look forward to follow up on these meetings and exploring potential collaborations. In addition to official events and meetings, Scaberia initiated several conversations about new potential partnerships and projects with Polish academic institutions and industry stakeholders, which we plan to follow up in the coming months. Last week, the ResC4EU Consortium convened in Krakow, Poland, for a 3-day event held from October 15-17, 2024. The gathering featured productive meetings, engaging activities, and a warm experience of Polish hospitality, expertly organized by the Polish Cluster for Composites Technologies (PKTK). A special thank you goes to Andrzej Czulak, Marta Czulak, and their dedicated team for their exceptional efforts. On Day 2, the consortium attended the KOMPOZYT-EXPO®, the 13th International Trade Fair for Composite Materials, Technologies, and Products, which took place from October 16-17, 2024, in Krakow. It was a great honour, that the ResC4EU Coordinator, Tjark von Reden from Composites United e.V., was invited to present the ResC4EU project and initiative on the main stage of the fair to an international audience. He was also invited to participate in the expert panel discussion with representatives from industry, research, and the Polish Ministry of Development and Technology focusing on the importance of collaboration in building resilient supply chains in the advanced composite materials sector. Another highlight of the day, marking a major milestone of the ResC4EU project, was the Grand Opening of the ‘ResC4EU platform’ on the main stage of the fair. The ceremony included pressing a ‘red bottom’, followed by a toast with champagne to celebrate the EU funding received to support SMEs in becoming more resilient. The ‘ResC4EU platform’ is a digital platform designed to help companies build more resilient and sustainable supply chains. On this day, the platform’s B2B marketplace was launched, allowing companies to list raw materials, components, semi-finished products, goods and services, free of charge. Future expansions will introduce more advanced tools and features related to resilience measures. Additionally, project partners from ISL and FHG IGCV showcased their initial framework for a Resilience Assessment Model at the exhibition. The event concluded with a networking evening at the exhibition hosted by PKTK, where consortium members engaged in enriching discussions with international industry representatives. This provided an opportunity to gather direct feedback from numerous SMEs regarding their needs and their vison for further support from the project. Last week, the ResC4EU Consortium met in Krakow, Poland, for a 3-day event, 15-17 October 2024, full of meetings, activities and enjoying Polish hospitality organised by the Polish Cluster for Composites Technologies (PKTK) - a very special "thank you" to Andrzej Czulak and Marta Czulak and their team. The Consortium had a very special evening and get-to-gather dinner at the "Tawerna Wilczy Dół" restaurant in the historic old town of Krakow gathering all project partners from Austria, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, Norway, Poland and Spain and experiencing traditional Polish food on the evening before. The tavern has an amazing atmosphere inspired by "The Witcher" movie with different theme rooms. We were in the throne room and some of us tried to sit on the throne … On Day 1, the ResC4EU Consortium held its General Assembly (GA) at the historic building of the Łukasiewicz - Institute of Ceramics and Building Materials in Krakow. This was a long meeting day, where current achievements and next steps of our ResC4EU project were discussed - always in the light how to provide best support for SMEs. Therefore, the demonstration of traditional Polish glassmaking craftsmanship, by the staff of the Łukasiewicz Institute, was a welcome lunch break. At the end of the day, there was an opportunity to visit the historically significant Oskar Schindler’s Enamel Factory, widely known from the film "Schindler's List". The visit was a clear reminder to all of us, working on an EU Project funded by the European Commission, of the core values the EU stands for and its origins as a peace project. We at Scaberia AS love Halloween. Scared of Innovation ? Talk to us. Halloween is celebrated on October 31st, originating from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain. It marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. People believed that on this night, the boundary between the living and the dead was thin, allowing spirits to roam. Today, Halloween is known for costumes, trick-or-treating, and pumpkin carving. Children go door-to-door collecting candy, dressed as ghosts, witches, or popular characters. Haunted houses and scary movies add to the spooky atmosphere, making it a night of fun and frights for all ages. Don't be afraid of Innovation. Talk to us.
