blueOASIS has created #HydroTWIN, an innovative solution that utilizes artificial intelligence to detect and identify underwater acoustic sources in real time. 🪼 This technology offers a strategic response to the escalating demand for enhanced marine surveillance and preservation. The EU-funded project GreenOffshoreTech, a Cluster facilitated Project aimed at driving innovation among Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in alignment with the EU Green Deal, took centre stage at SMM 2024 in Hamburg, Germany. The project was prominently featured at the Maritime Cluster Northern Germany (MCN) booth in Hall 6 and at the Federal State of Bremen booth in Hall 7.   SMM 2024 (Shipbuilding, Machinery & Marine Technology), the world’s leading international trade fair for the maritime industry, attracted over 40,000 participants and more than 2,000 exhibitors from 120 nations. Spanning 11 halls and covering 90,000 square meters, this year’s event was celebrated as the most successful SMM to date, showcasing cutting-edge technologies, products, and innovations across shipbuilding, propulsion systems, marine equipment, and offshore technology.   The GreenOffshoreTech project team, alongside project partners Maritime Cluster Northern Germany (MCN), BALance Technology Consulting GmbH, and Scaberia AS, seized this opportunity to present project outcomes and engage with key players in the maritime industry, including award-winning SMEs and other project participants. Over the past three years, GreenOffshoreTech has supported 82 European SMEs in developing innovative prototypes within the blue economy sector. SMM 2024 marked a pivotal moment for final networking and knowledge exchange within the project. 𝗟𝗘𝗠𝗩𝗢𝗦 𝗙𝗘𝗘𝗗𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞 In the wake of the spectacular #GOTFinalEvent held in #Hamburg last June, we reached out to the #winners to learn what participating in the project meant to them and how the #prize could help advance their innovative #business ideas. 🏆🥇 Lemvos won first place in the #GOT Innovation Award Competition! Located in southern Germany, Lemvos is a leading company in marine #robotics, specializing in the development of Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs) and offering a range of innovative marine products. Here is what this award meant, according to Daniel Severinsen, the company co-founder: "Being a part of the final project event was a big #milestone for us and particularly for myself personally, this was the first time I had presented our company in front of an audience. (…) Until now we have not been very public about our company. This has been a good star, and has given us the #confidence to consider a few more public presentations. Also, the #LinkedIn publications following the event were valuable.  What significance does the prize money have? The prize money has been allocated to the development and construction of the next offshore USV (Unmanned Surface Vessel), namely: - Converting the provisional patent into a full patent for the Docking and Charging system (Lemvos DockMaster); - Purchasing tools and materials for hull manufacture (out of HDPE); - Getting the outer hull frame constructed; - Purchasing the batteries for the next offshore USV. It both guides and supports you, and our team and board do not feel that participating was a waste of focus or resources (unlike some other programs).
