Enough talk, we need to act, and we need to act now if we really want to cut emissions! That was one of the conclusions at Arctic Circle last week when Nordic Innovation gathered the actors in the hydrogen project 'Next Wave' to a panel discussion. Thank you Lin April Løstegård for an excellent facilitation of the session! 🙏 And as the panel presumed, collaboration has been a key factor to the success of the project. With the value chain involved and close collaboration in the Nordics, 20 of Man’s hydrogen trucks will arrive on Island's roads next year. And Norway will also deploy over 80 trucks in the beginning of 2025. As the project shows, refueling stations, stimulating demand and continuing building competence throughout the value chain is essential for the continuing the work for transportation to become emission-free with hydrogen trucks. Did you know that the Nordic region ranks as the 10th largest economy in the world? Many see the Nordic countries as small, and alone they are. But together we are top 5 in Europe and top 10 in the world when you rank economies. The productivity in the region is about 40% higher than the EU avarage. Nordic consumers and companies are early adaptors, and we have shown that we take actions when it comes to reducing climate emissions. Thanks to Nordic Innovation I’ll have the chance to speak at the Arctic Circle event in Reykjavik next week about VIREON and how we enable zero emissions in the Nordics through building a network of hydrogen refueling stations for trucks. 🌟 The Grand Opening of Hellesylt Hydrogen Hub – what an unforgettable day! 🌟   Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the UNESCO World Heritage site Geirangerfjord, we celebrated under the most perfect weather conditions imaginable. ☀️   ⚡️ Our new facility can generate close to 500 tonnes of green hydrogen per year, enabling customers across many sectors reducing their emissions.🌿   The day couldn’t have been better. We celebrated with a scenic fjord cruise, filled with inspiring speeches, insightful conversations, and a true sense of community. 🛥️ It was an honor to host such a diverse and distinguished group — customers, suppliers, owners, partners, and colleagues from the entire hydrogen value chain. 🤝   We were also honored by the presence and support of representatives from the municipality, county, organizations, and supporting soft funding agencies.  Your commitment and collaboration are crucial as we build a sustainable future together.   🙏 A heartfelt thank you to Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre for joining us and reinforcing the government’s commitment to establishing a robust hydrogen value chain in Norway and beyond.   And this is only the beginning! It's not an everyday thing for any company to get 2,5 minutes at a national broadcasters main daily news - but that's what happened after VIREON launched our first refueling station in Finland yesterday! 🚛 Together with the Jyväskylän kaupunki - City of Jyväskylä and Cefmof we announced that our first station will be built in Jyväskylä, and that it from the beginning will service a fleet of five busses from CaetanoBus. We soon hope to also announce several new customers that will use the station - and also more stations in Finland as this is the first but certainly not our last. 🔋Finland’s green hydrogen revolution begins in Jyväskylä!🔋 VIREON will construct Finland’s first large-scale green hydrogen refueling station in Jyväskylä, marking a major milestone in the country’s journey towards renewable energy. This station is the first of four VIREON stations planned across Finland. 🌍 With its central location and strong support from Cefmof and the City, Jyväskylä is the ideal starting point for building a robust hydrogen infrastructure. By 2025, Jyväskylä will pioneer green hydrogen-powered public transport with the integration of five hydrogen-fueled buses into the city’s fleet. One week ago, we celebrated the launch of our new facility at the stunning Hellesylt, near the UNESCO World Heritage site Geirangerfjord. The facility will produce nearly 500 tonnes of green hydrogen annually, enabling emission reductions for our customers across multiple sectors. 🌿 The day was truly unforgettable, with perfect weather, a scenic fjord cruise, and inspiring speeches. 🚛 More hydrogen trucks than ever at IAA TRANSPORTATION! 🚛   The first VIREON hydrogen refueling station for trucks is now open, and we can’t wait to see the many trucks showcased at IAA hitting Nordic roads and refueling at our stations. ⛽🚚   With around 1,700 exhibitors and approximately 145,000 visitors, IAA Transportation in Hannover is undoubtedly Europe’s most important meeting place for those of us working with heavy-duty vehicles and the infrastructure that supports them. 🌍 This year, hydrogen took center stage like never before!    All major truck manufacturers presented one or more hydrogen trucks, whether powered by hydrogen combustion engines or fuel cells. Additionally, many small and medium-sized companies also showcased hydrogen trucks ready for market. 🚛🔋   A special congratulation to our strategic partner MAN Truck & Bus Norge AS for winning the Truck Innovation Award 2025 with their hTGX H2 ICE truck🏆👏 VIREON was present at IAA with Per Øyvind Voie, Thomas G. Nordal, and Juho-Matti Uuksulainen.
