It’s been said that #CoffeeProduction is in severe danger due to #ClimateChange. With our agronomic expertise, we’re prepared to innovate and respond to the new challenges the #agriculture industry is facing. However, we cannot do this alone. We call on all actors across the food value chain to transform our food system through regenerative agriculture. Let’s take action to feed the world AND support the climate, nature and our farmers. Together, we can secure crop supply and produce more food while using less of the planet’s resources.

Producing premium fertilizers with a lower environmental footprint is part of our mission to responsibly feed the world and protect the planet. Low-carbon fertilizers are nitrate-based mineral fertilizers with exactly the same chemical and physical composition as those produced with fossil sources (natural gas, coal, oil) but produced with renewable energy, with a much lower carbon footprint because they are produced with renewable resources using renewable energy. Launching Yara Climate Choice™ product line in Brazil was one of our major strides forward this year, and we’ll continue to work towards our goal of a nature-positive food future throughout the coming year. #KnowledgeGrows #Coffee #SustainableAgriculture

A balanced #coffee nutrition program along with the proper form of nitrogen #fertilizers can help: 🌱 Improve productivity, increasing yields & profits 🌱 Enhance coffee quality of coffee, meeting the taste demands of discerning consumers 🌱 Reduce soil acidity and soil depletion 🌱 Reduce the carbon footprint of a cup of coffee 🌱 Improve the efficiency of water use 🌱 Improve resilience to climate change We recommend working closely with an agronomist or Yara rep in order to determine the correct dosages and timing. Hint: don’t skip the technical consultation if you’re looking to achieve best results.

Climate conditions are shifting and many #CoffeeCrops suffer from the effects of drought, leading some producers to turn to #fertigation as a means of delivering precision doses of water and #fertilizer. In addition to increasing yields, optimal crop nutrition also raises the water use efficiency of agriculture, helping to prevent waste – a win-win for producers. As the #coffee industry takes a good, hard look at #sustainability, understanding and defining key terminology becomes necessary throughout the supply chain. Check out what coffee professionals with various roles in different countries had to say on these topics.
Permaculture, organic, and regenerative farming are not new concepts for many coffee producers, but they have recently become more prominent in consumer marketing. The growing demand for “sustainable” coffee, as well as the increasing need to safeguard the supply chain against the threat of climate change, means more brands are using these terms, printing them on packaging and including them in marketing materials. Without clarification and transparency, it can be easy to conflate these concepts, especially for consumers. Among the many issues this confusion can cause, greenwashing is one of the most prominent, harming brand loyalty and reputation. In today’s article, Melina Devoney speaks to Kyle Freund Senior Communications Manager at Solidaridad North America, Cris Salazar, co-founder of Santuario Ecológico Monteverde, Diego Robelo, General Manager of Aquiares Estate Coffee, Ted Stachura, Director of Equator Coffees, and Marcel Binley, Marketing Manager at Bella Barista, to better understand these terms. #PerfectDailyGrind #OrganicCoffee #RegenerativeAgriculture https://lnkd.in/etU8sZ_5
