Updates

  • At All Blacks Performance Labs, we pride ourselves on delivering high-performance insights from diverse industries and regions. Our recent three-day engagement in Montpellier, France with ALTRAD’s global leadership team exemplified this. Altrad, the principal sponsor of all our teams in Black, and a global enterprise of 65,000 employees across various sectors from scaffolding to energy, provided a rich learning environment. This session, led by our executive coach, Simon Curran, focused on high-performance mindsets, introducing a compelling model: Performance = Potential – Distractions.  A key takeaway was managing the internal voices that affect our performance—the practical and encouraging 'Coach' versus the punishing and critical 'Critic', terms powerfully coined by author Ethan Kross. Understanding and mastering these voices can be the turning point from merely settling to achieving the remarkable, regardless of whether you're a novice or a top-tier professional. The discipline to develop and implement strategies to manage these distractions is crucial. Our workshop offered practical tools used by the world's elite performers, earning high praise from Altrad Co-CEO, Ran Oren, who described the All Blacks Performance Labs as "the best team training I have done anywhere in the world." New Zealand Rugby, Sean Fitzpatrick, Propel Performance Group, Nerolie Curran, Ben Anderson.

New Zealand Rugby’s Teams In Black have the best win ratio in any global sport in the last 100 years. While there are many contributing factors to their continued success, all of it is only made possible by the culture they have designed.   The All Blacks Performance Labs "Designing Team Culture" programme distils the essence of the Teams In Black ethos - a winning culture that fuels curiosity, sparks innovation and demands continuous improvement. This forms the backbone of every high-performing team and borrowing from their playbooks, we have built a blueprint for success in the business world. At All Blacks Performance Labs, we believe a healthy culture is one where team members can respectfully debate, challenge one another and brainstorm creatively to achieve better outcomes. A culture of agreement without challenge can lead to stagnation and fatigue, inhibit innovation and growth.   One of the tools we’ve found to be most effective in creating this culture is M.I.A – a simple acronym that encourages teams to leave no stone unturned, question prevailing assumptions, and uncover overlooked insights.   M.I.A stands for: “What am I Missing? What am I Ignoring? What am I incorrectly Assuming?” It serves as a reminder to keep our minds open, to question, to learn, and to grow. This ensures that we maintain an environment of constant reflection and improvement.   So, the next time you’re in a meeting, consider using M.I.A as you wrap up. It’s a simple exercise that can yield powerful results. You’ll be amazed at the fresh perspectives that surface.

When we launched All Blacks Performance Labs, we naturally set our sights on partnering with ALTRAD, the front-of-jersey sponsor for the All Blacks.   In 2022, we delivered our first All Blacks Performance Labs experience for ALTRAD. The journey we have been on with ALTRAD since then has been nothing short of extraordinary.   The transformative impact All Blacks Performance Labs has had on individuals, teams, and leaders at ALTRAD has been truly amazing. The trust and support of ALTRAD’s senior leaders, led by Ran Oren, has fueled our shared ambition to unlock ALTRAD's untapped potential. We are looking forward to the continued evolution of our journey with ALTRAD.   Check out the video below to hear about ALTRAD CEO Ran Oren’s experience to date with All Blacks Performance Lab, which he describes as “The best team coaching performance experience that I've ever had”. Thank you Ran, we are very humbled.   Curious to learn more about All Blacks Performance Labs? Visit our website: https://lnkd.in/gzr5efej.

Executive Coaches Simon and Nerolie recently had the privilege of guiding 400 ALTRAD leaders through a transformative All Blacks Performance Lab programme. While rugby teams were testing their limits on the field, ALTRAD leaders were doing the same in boardrooms in their Montpellier head office and in Spain. Our mission? To prepare them for next-level leadership. We were lucky to be joined by legends from the rugby world, Karl Tenana, Sir John Kirwan and Sean Fitzpatrick, who shared insights from their careers on the field.   This was a wonderful opportunity for All Blacks Performance Lab to transcend borders, language and culture with our programme. Thank you, Mohed Altrad & Ran Oren, for your unwavering support in bringing us closer in partnership and friendship with ALTRAD. In the words of Mike Moeahu, Partnership Manager at NZ Rugby and a great friend of All Blacks Performance Lab: “A true partnership shares, learns and grows together. ALTRAD’s values of conviviality, respect, humility, solidarity and courage enhance an individual, a team and a culture”.   He waka eke noa, we are all in this together. Adopt a mindset that uses continuous change and uncertainty as the fuel for high performance to improve with each day.   Navigating change and uncertainty is a challenge all leaders face. Drawing on the ethos of New Zealand Rugby’s Teams in Black, our “Fuelling High Performance” programme taps into uncertainty and change as a catalyst for high performance. All of New Zealand Rugby’s Teams In Black have set the bar for continuous high performance, spurred by their unyielding spirit and remaining undeterred by change or uncertainty. Their continuous success isn't accidental; it's fuelled by a mindset that views challenges as stepping stones on the path to higher performance. This is one of the many insights we have distilled for businesses around the globe. It's not about weathering change; it's about using it as a springboard to leap ahead. “Fueling High Performance” empowers you with the strategies, models and mindsets that have driven the All Blacks and the Black Ferns to their extraordinary achievements.
