Ko tēnei Te Wiki o te Reo Māori 2024 – this week is Māori Language week 2024! 🌟 The theme for 2024 is ‘Ake ake ake – A Forever Language’. The Asia New Zealand Foundation Tē Whītau Tūhono is excited to get involved, support the week, and continue our efforts throughout the year. One activity we’re doing internally to mark this is learning ‘Nei rā te kaupapa ko te reo Māori’ – a waiata championing te reo Māori and reinforcing the commitment needed to keep the language alive. 💬 You don’t have to learn a waiata to celebrate the week – try your hand at some starting phrases! Check out the images on this post. We encourage all of Aotearoa to get involved. Learn how by visiting: https://lnkd.in/gQZ8kzN Kia Kaha te reo Māori! #ReoMāori

Great to be at the Inaugural ASEAN Think Tanks Summit this week in Jakarta, Indonesia 🌏💬 The Summit helps to connect Track II dialogue efforts from across the region and provides a platform to contribute strategic ideas on challenges and priorities in the ASEAN region. Our own Track II manager Dr James To was there (you can find him fourth from the left in the group handshake 🤝) alongside our Honorary Adviser Prof Thitinan Pongsudhirak. They both presented during the summit, sharing perspectives on how to build more trust and confidence amongst small, middle and great powers alike. Thanks to the Singapore Institute of International Affairs and the ASEAN Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) Network for the invitation to reconnect with friends and colleagues from across the region. 📸: The ASEAN Secretariat

We're pleased to support today's Aotearoa AI Summit! 🤖 It's great to learn about the latest trends and innovations shaping New Zealand's tech industry. The Foundation is excited to support Mongolian tech entrepreneur Enkhsaikhan Vicky to speak at the summit. Vicky is the co-founder of Empasoft University of Technology and a country director for 'WOMEN IN TECH (Global)'. She brings a wealth of knowledge into the Asia and global tech space. 🌏 Many interesting insights have been shared already today - including a closer look at the benefits of AI integration with language and its potential to increase accessibility. Vicky contributed this panel discussion, drawing from her experience as a co-investor in an AI system for the Mongolian keyboard to assist schools. Great to have Vicky and some of our Foundation whānau at the AI Summit discussing future of AI! 📸: AI Forum NZ
